Recently I've had lots of end of tenancy cleans, and I can't really fit them in, I'm too busy, so I've started to charge 'silly money' but always say to them

'you will no doubt find cheaper elsewhere, but I'm happy to do it for this price, totally up to you'

And to my suprise not one person has bothered going elsewhere,

I did two last week, one upstairs maisonette (6 windows) for £40

And one small house for £50 (8 windows)

Both were happy, which really surprises me, but I do give them choice to look elsewhere - Infact I almost encourage it, but they seem willing to pay...

I used to charge maybe half the price above, but hated it! Now I'm quite happy to do them for these prices - just goes to show high prices sometimes seem to make people want to choose you!

Good work, are those insides and outsides? £40 for 6 windows is easy money in anyones books. I had one the other week, said another windie would do it for £25, I said best I could do is £30 and still got it regular. Not a huge increase but I was still higher none-the-less

Outsides!

Some will be insides, I've got one to do on Thursday that's £50 for 8 widows again, but that's inside as well, still should only take 30 mins, small house...

Every little helps mate, £30 still good!

Wow outsides thats awesome! £50 for half an hours work puts you on £100 an hour! Lol. That is proper quick though, that would take me closer to an hour and a half haha. Yeah 30s ok, it does have a conservatory and glass balcony though, but its regular, got the neighbour out of it and is a fiver more than the other windie would of charged lol, and rightly so to be fair its a big bungalow!

I hate one-offs, I say I only do monthly or every other month but people still ask for it to be done as and when they need it, well call cheapie then :thumbsup:/emoticons/biggrin.png

End of tenancies can be worth quite a few bob down here as well.

If you are in a town / city that has a uni then now is a great time to be contacting estate agents direct or linking up with the cleaning companies that handle the cleans.

I work closely with x2 cleaning companies down here and they are great to work with /emoticons/smile.png

A pound a minute - that's my new pricing system and what started off as a bit of fun actually seems to work - especially with end of tenancies.

Only 8 windows, nice and quick - but not too quick as otherwise it's embarrassing... So I get it done in half hour ish...

That's a good idea alien, I did bunk about collaborating with cleaners...

hold on? so you charged £50 for 8 windows ? what ? fair play mate .. how did you justify that to the customer ?

i get so irritated by some people who still expect to get their 3 bed house done foe £3 lol

I need some lessons from you Jake! I did my quickest job last week, a maintenance clean on a bungalow, took about 45-50mins lol. On a property that is actually dirty it easily takes twice as long. All wfp. Will I get quicker at it or am I just being far too fussy on the frames (which always take the most time because I refuse to leave a single spec of dust)?

Would recommend giving it a go mate - hardly any companies down here have (or want to have) WFP in their tool chest so it benefits them to be able to cater for all needs etc..... & I almost always quote directly to the estate agents / construction company anyway so don't lose any £ with a middle man.

It's not just end of tenancies but also new builds which I personally always enjoy getting involved in.

Only tip - aim for 'top end' cleaning companies. They are the chaps who tend to get the private tenants end of tenancies and fancy pancy new build developments - good luck if you choose to give it a crack /emoticons/smile.png

I can only hope I will get quicker lol. This thread has inspired me though, going round estate agents friday and next week to get some end of tenancy agreements. What would you recommend as a starting price, double your standard price?

I just said we are very busy so we charge a standard £50 for end of tenancy cleans, and I now always say 'you will probably find cheaper elsewhere'

And to my suprise they chose to go with me!

Granted - I'm sure not all will go with that price, but the way I see it is in very busy with regular work, and end of tenancy cleans are always really dirty, so I think it's best to make it worth my while, they have a choice weather they agree or not...

You probably are being way to thorough... I would say on average a 4 bed detached would take me 15 mins wfp... I'm not the most thorough though! But I do a good job and manage customers expectations early on!

You'll get here @MrBump you just need to probably be a bit less worried about every little spec...

Takes me 15mins to do a shed window let alone a 4 bed house /emoticons/wink.png You must be raking it in... Or should I say Jakin' it in! /emoticons/biggrin.png My new tank should be here today, which will nearly triple my capacity. I'm going to try fan jets on high for a while (any higher on my pencils just splashes out), see if that speeds me up. Made some room this afternoon to go around some estste agents later, let see how it goes...

Keep us posted!

I find fan jets actually slow me down, they take to long to rinse...

See how you go, but I find one thing to consider is sometimes we all over scrub, so maybe scrub a bit less, and that should also help speed things up!

me & my son just swapped over to fans & we're flying through work, i'm a bit slow so use a fair bit of water but my lad actually uses less than when we had pencils, took a bit of experimenting to get the right flow though

which by the way is why im sat at home at 2.30 lol

I found the opposite, just found the rinsing was so slow no matter what flow rate I was on...
