Got another gutter quote today, suppose thats one good thing about all this rain, overflows the gutters
I've now got 2 gutter clears tomorrow and an 8 weekly window clean. I'm supposed to be going camping with the nipper sometime tomorrow, oh well more beer money

If he gets too greedy he will cope for his own final value fee 10% lol
True story; I was selling a computer screen on eBay, I get a message from someone wanting to buy it now and it turns out he was one of my best mates. SOLD to the numpty in the corner

Trev have you converted a bus to carry that thing around?

Trev which diameter poles did you go for, 44mm or 52mm? And are there any times you which it had more sucking power or has it always been enough? Your one has 150" of lift whatever that means, I'm thinking of getting the cheaper one which has 100", so will be 2/3 as strong, made for gutters so should be ok but what do you reckon? It seems wattage and suction aren't in direct correlation so all 3000w's aren't the same etc, I'm trying to go by suction instead.

Tuffers if you don't win that vac, the skyvac atom and homeowner are far cheaper than the bigguns at around 500 squidaroos and have 100" vs 150" suction at a quarter of the price! Can you buy one of them and let me know if its any good or not please

Bertha fits in snugly at the back of my van next to my hose reel, put her 2 front brakes on and shes solid in there. I'm not that clued up on the different types but I'd personally not want less suction to be fair, I have played about with some big weeds for a few mins before managing to pull them free, but she gets them in the end! If there rooted in well I just use the metal end tool and break it up a bit and cut it into chunks then lift out. Always make sure its well sucked on if your working over a conny or porch etc or Frank will soon have the chunk falling from the vac right on to the roof! Doen it once, learnt my lesson ha! Now once I have a big chunk connected I lift up and go up over the roof until I know its not letting go then bring it slowly over to a safe area to drop it.

Mine has a slider thing where I can adjust the lifting power, not sure if others do? I normally just leave her on full lift.

Yeah whats that power slider all about, surely you just want two settings max-on and max-off /emoticons/biggrin.png

Sadly I can't afford big bertha, guess I'll just be doing alot of slicing and dicing and be dirtying some connie roofs then lol. Oh well guess I'll be upselling some connie roof cleans then soon

Do you know if you have the 44mm or 52mm poles? I'm going to order my vac tomorrow

It's all about the 52mm, wider the poles the less chance of getting blocked up! As poles starting getting heavy suck a litre or so of water through to clear all the crude that sticks to the inside of the poles, will be light again after.

Just ordered one of these (a skyvac atom):

http://www.spinaclean.com/skyvac-atom.asp

Next day delivery so should be here tomorrow. Looks pretty good, not as powerful as the super awesome industrial 85, but its faaaaar cheaper (under £600 compared to almost £2,500!) for 7/8 poles, around 10-12m. Carbon poles, 100" of lift which is the same as most other 3000w machines, has a blow function, lots of accessories. Can't wait /emoticons/biggrin.png

I will take some photos and do a test on my own gutters over the weekend and let you guys know the score

Keep a eye on this it might end up going for a steal http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SkyVac-Gutter-Cleaning-Machine-/321843352720?hash=item4aef5bd490
I went for the SkyVac system in the end with the 8 carbon poles but blagged a extra so got 9, I haggled on the phone and got a decent enough deal, yes expensive but it's a tool that should last many a year looked after correctly and the earnings far outway the initial cost which is of course tax deductible, the end tools aint the best but doubt there much to replace once a year or so, if anybody has any links to end tools that will fit it I'd be interested as some of mine are a bit well used now so might replace a few.
I just buy Ali pipe or stainless and make your own costs pennies just buy 2 inch pipe

I'm a strong bloke but even with 5 or 6 carbon poles high at the angles I have had to vac some gutters out I'd not fancy it with alloy ones. But yes I guess there fine for straight forward jobs or if your built like hulk hogan lol.

I'm a bit confused by Spinacleans pricing...the atom kit with 7 carbon poles is £477+vat (that seams really cheap) especially as the 7 poles without the vac are £870+vat. Is this another balls up like Ionics liquidator prices or are the poles different somehow?

Yeah that got me too Luke, I figured it was a great deal either way and so I ordered it. After buying it I found out they are slightly different, I think they are slightly narrower and have less carbon, well defo less carbon, but I will measure them when they come tomorrow and let you know. Think of wfp poles, you can pay a few hundred for a decent carbon pole, say an slx, but then if you want the super special carbon poles, say an extreme, its a thousand, you have to pay alot more for slightly better.

The atoms designed to clear gutters by peeps who know what they are doing so if its good enough to clean gutters for a year then I'm happy. Andy from Spinaclean is really helpful and quick to reply too so I'd ask him if you want to know specifically. Tell him the guy from Zure who bought an atom today sent you

I mean the end tools wot join the top of your poles as you can make any shape and size you want

Not sure about vids, maybe I'll see, but will get some photos up... Might need Gav to add an 18+ section though

I bought the Guttervac Pro Junior from Omnipole last year which is a similar price. It does the job well enough but only has four rather heavy alloy poles which have been "manufactured" by a man with a hacksaw as have the two end tools, the vac comes in the box from its original producer with floor tools, dust bag, etc so just a cheap shop vac sold on with a price jump really.

As I said it does the job even at only 1400 watts but its not really what I expected from the original inventors of the GutterVac.

With hindsight I would have made my own with bits off Ebay.
