Anyone good at web design on wordpress?

So ive been getting very interested in learning how to design and seo websites lately.

Whilst i understand the easiest way to go is to pay (and something you should definately do)

It also would be great to design your own sites as if you can do this website cost are really cheap

Now im not talking using a sitebuilder, im talking actually designing your own site, be it wordpress or learning php.

Just wondered if anyone on here has good knowledge of wordpress, i have been tinkering with it for a while now and so far i have this

im not particularly happy with it as there is things i dont know how to do and cant get it right, the seo i feel im ok with its more the design that i need help with

just wondered if anyone has knowledge of wp design that can help?

on google u will find people search more for window cleaner in leeds rather than window cleaning leeds

your one off clean states that there will be an extra charge

from your normal price

crafty customers will then say oh i want to get them done every 4 weeks then when they pay u they say to leave it

yeh contents not finished yet, trying to get design right first, no idea why its slow to load though, annoying

I think you need to make the logo smaller, all that white space above the menu isn't good. The menu is two rows should only be one. You don't need "leeds" on every menu item. Too many keywords is a negative.

You have the title twice on the top of the homepage.

No pictures, just lots of writing which no one will read.

No contact details visible, no quote visible at the top, people will expect to see them straight away.

You gone well overboard with keywords.

Good links are what gets you ranked high, listing on yell an similar sites for example.

I use DigitalOcean for hosting my sites, you can spin on a UK server for just $5 a month, and just SSH into it, you can even load a WordPress image, so sets up Apache, mysql etc for you.

That will allow you to really get your hands dirty /emoticons/wink.png

I use tso host. £5 per month for up to 6 domains. I have used apache before when trying to setup a server for uni work. Can remember it was all a headmasher. I don't want to get that deep yet just looking to learn WordPress really and make good quality sites on the cheap

Maybe just me being silly, but you sort of say your ladderless but the picture shows a ladder

If you want to get to grips with it without paying for hosting, set up a server on your own pc or laptop with xampp from apachefriends.org it include php, mysql etc so simple install and use. Thought I'd mention it. Hate WordPress though.

Erm not finished with site @boarcity the ladders thing hadn't even crossed my mind I just put the image on temporary nor have I finished the content I'm just messing about at the minute with design I just liked the aerial shot

How do I deserve my site to be slow what a daft thing to say I don't get how I'm a fraudster. If you're offended because of what I'm writing you're taking it to heart too much it's called marketting.

you misunderstand me. what im tryin to explain is over the years everytime iv seen someone write that ladders are no good compared to wfp in their website blurb / AND have an image of a ladder its only a matter of time till they cease trading .same if they write that ladders are superior over wfp, its a cheap dig thatll backfire on the author

Quite often the same person adds in the blurb that theyll "better others prices,give us a call" -- it goes with the territory

The most important point is that image isn't likely to stay on there its not even positioned properly as I'm trying to figure out how to get the image in the middle. I didn't even think about the ladder being on there really. As for the content I think your taking offence because you use ladders when you shouldn't as no where does it say ladders are ****. I think i put something like no one on ladders looking through your windows, which is true..now i couldnt care less if my windows were cleaned by either method but if one person reading it calls because of that statement then great...It simply marketting to try to sell your service just as the safety aspect is. Moreover it's added content to get in more keywords if anything otherwise there's not really much to write on a windy website other than I clean windows is there.

I don't think there's a direct correlation with wfp guys putting pics of ladders on their sites and going out of business Im also highly dubious that you've see this happen all the time. I'm certain it won't come back to bite me neither will i be beating any prices so I think you've got me mistaken mate and what you said was just plain daft but I'll let you know if all hell breaks loose and every custy in my area starts a revolt over my website pic. :rofl:

Looks good especially like the Thompson logo

Feedback - it seemed to say window cleaning Wakefield and powerwashing Leeds . Bit confusing maybe ?

There's a company in Leeds have a big ' ladderless window cleaning ' written on van

Yet there's a double 12 sat on roof rack !!!! You know who you are
