I got two new customers to clean tomorrow, both is a 5 bedroom detached houses so good money earner for me.

The problem is both owner are elderly people who don't understand WFP, and me not being able to hear i will struggle to explain it to them.

I want to write a small simple note how WFP work and how i got to leave it to dry.

Anyone kind enough to write a e.g of what I should write

Thanks

I do have a letter about somewhere explaining how it all works etc, but can't seem to find it, just google it loads and loads of info you can easily copy/paste.

Perhaps say something like

'Dear customer,

I will be cleaning your windows with a relatively new system today, it may seem strange, but I assure you the result will be spotless.

This new system is now the standard way to clean windows safley and professionally, it's called a 'water fed pole system'

You may notice I won't be squeegeeing the windows after scrubbing them - please don't worry as we use purified water to clean and rinse the windows. We have to let them dry naturally so as not to cause any smears or marks.

They will dry perfectly clean, with a much better finish than the previous method (squeegee and cloths)

I will happily return should the result not satisfy you, please be patient in letting the windows dry. Though it may seem rather strange to leave the water on the windows, they will dry with no spots or water marks, due to being pure water'

I hope this puts your mind at rest!

Thanks'

Hopefully something like that will do the trick mate!

I have this paragraph in the info sheet I give to new customers:

Unless they ask - don't explain,.. simple as!

Does your plumber explain why he uses plastic pipe now when copper was the norm for the last 40 years?

When I changed over to wfp, loads of people asked, especially the older customers, and all Dave is doing is covering himself as he is quite deaf, so wants a written explanation for when the inevitable happens,

The example about plumbers is completly different @Njones as most people have no idea what a Plumber is using/doing, whereas a window cleaning has always been basic - squeegee/applicator, so people notice and do ask... As its so different than trad, other trades are far more complicated so it's not the same. Window cleaning is more frequent as well, so people get used to a certain way for years and years, then suddenly, when someone starts leaving water on the windows after years of blading it off, it seems very strange! So they ask what the heck were doing!

In my experience you get complaints from ppl who get the explanation & the ones you say nothing to carry on as normal - - that was my personal experience when I switched to wfp.

Imo it is the same

Customer asks "can you clean my windows"

"Yes i can for a tenner"

"Ok then "

Job done

Unless they ask how you will achieve this it has no relevance to them

The job you have been asked to do has been done

I know some people do ask what you're doing while doing it which is why it is a good idea to have a leaflet in case but why bring the subject up if not

When i quote i always say the frames and sills will be washed also but not how

I never bring it up personally, but Dave obviously wants to be prepared...

I only explained it to the people that were in and asked me what this new system was, that's just normal, loads of people ask,

But no I wouldn't tell a customer that's never in, or go out my way to say I'd changed over

Deny all knowledge that the water on the windows is anything to do with you and tell them it's just rained /emoticons/biggrin.png

reminds me of my new bungalow job..she is 93 bless her and as deaf as a post..so I thought better not rock the boat and start tradding the front....half way round thought feck this for a game and went and got my wfp...

she loved watching my every move but never asked about my new method was more concerned with booking me in for next month..

maybe a bit deaf but she had good eyesight as she pointed out the pansy growing half way up the garden in the lawn..

most people dont seem to ask or seem worried..

mind you ...I am a sneaky wfper....

yeh bumpy me likes the rainy days as I can wfp in peace...

I'm a sneaky tradder now

Sometimes i get the squeegee out but don't tell anyone

Used my small ladders twice since last monday

Once to hop over a garage as i was early and wanted to get done knowing they don't get home for another 20 minutes (tradded the back in a few minutes)

The other to reach a particular window over an extension that is too big to get the angle to reach the bottom of the window so i used it to get my top half over the roofline

They are in the garden for 2 weeks now as definitely not needed

Love this stick waggling now

Who would want to climb ladders if they don't need to

Had a quote earlier that i seriously over quoted as they want gutters etc and i can't be arsed

Saw another windie nearby and stopped to tell him to go quote it if he wants it

He said the same as me lol

We are in the process of switching to a new method of cleaning your upstairs windows. This method will soon be the industry standard for window cleaning at height. As a Business wanting to be at the forefront of our industry, we have decided to invest in this technology which involves the use of telescopic poles and 100% pure water, which we filter through state of the art reverse-osmosis filters and de-ionisation vessels. We are embracing this technology for a number of reasons(1) Health and safety. Legislation being brought into effect will limit the use of ladders as temporary workstations. The law as we understand it, now states that ladders should only be used when all viable alternatives have been considered. As a company, we have decided that water-fed pole systems are a safer viable alternative and are worth the investment. If the job can be completed to the same high standard without standing on a ladder, then we have an obligation to embrace this method. (2) Better cleaning results. Firstly, it cleans the windows and the frames. Second, the major advantage of pure water is its capacity to absorb large amounts of dirt from your windows. This process involves brushing and rinsing your windows clean with pure water and allowing them to dry naturally to a streak free shine. This occurs due to the pure nature of the water used.(3) Environmentally friendly. Pure water only is used, eliminating the need for any detergents and chemicals except where greasy dirt is a problem.(4) Reduced disturbance & Increased privacy. No more dents in your lawn and unexpected appearances of faces at windows. (5) We may now be able to reach previously inaccessible aspects of your property. Conservatory roofs, windows above conservatory’s etc. that we had previously been unable to clean.(6) Water-fed pole cleaning works in the rain! Although we will not work in severe weather, showery misty weather will no longer hinder our work. This will help us to ensure a more regular and professional service to all of our customers. Please note that it can take up to two or three visits for the process to `leach` all deposits from around the frames, resulting in an improved finish each time. Therefore, please be patient if the initial visit is not perfect.Best Regards to all etc. etc.________________________Hope this helps
