Water Stains On Gutters

Hi,

Was cleaning gutters today. Think the gutters were a bit old. They weren`t as white as the semi next door. They had what looked like water marks on them but couldn`t get them off. Cleaned with Virosol and then UPVC cleaner. It was a good enough job but I would have liked to have got them really white. Think they were just too far gone. Anybody have any ideas about restoring old gutters?

Cheers,

Steve

In combination with those products you've used I have used old kitchen scourers (scotchbrite type). As you said, sometimes they are too far gone to get perfect.

Steve.YES. Tell the customer to RESTORE the old gutter. NEVER promise them the Earth. You can only IMPROVE it's appearance. Sell them that.

couple of years ago i saw a homeowner remove his guttering and clean it on the ground. it only took him the same time to get it down as i took to clean the front windows of the house next door. worth a thought if the guttering going to have to be scrubbed in detail

Insomnia B.C. Too many late jobs and a temporary twisted perception of time.

No work tonight so hopefully my brain will return.

on my minds is iv had the local van dealer pestering me after i enquired months ago casually about looking for a crewvan. this dealers ever since been like a dog with a bone, wont take no for an answer. thing is i DO need a new crewvan soon but i wont be railroaded and hassled to order sight unseen which is what he wants.

Sorry man, i've had to switch off for a day or so. I also do floorwork/ carpet cleaning and with that it's always carried out in 'downtime'. You can walk around Stratford's Westfield Centre with a spliff and a can of 'Super but they're not fond of you scrubbing and sealing their floors while they are open. TBH.....i've had enough.
