I had to iron that habit out of the part timer, when he first joined me he never wiped the frames cos that's how he was taught. Kept having to pull him up on it. he does and says a lot of odd thing that I should share on the forum (some of them are gems)

Best of luck benji! Maybe you could incorporate your chefs hat into your window cleaning uniform somehow lol

***Quick update***

Well a quick update for anyone interested. Been smashing in the kitchen hours and not been on here much but Done my last kitchen shift on the last bank holiday Monday so all went well there. Nice leaving card and big hamper from all the staff. Boss was devastated, gonna miss me etc etc and on leaving I did say - if you get stuck or someone's on holiday give me a shout and if I can help out I will, no day shifts tho.

Anyway after finishing I cracked on with what little windows I've got and had a knock in some doors of where I was and bagged a few more so my few days work is now getting a bit bigger. Can honestly say so far canvassing I get about 80% of what I knock ....... The ol' ladies love me for some reason lol.

Got 2 weeks work helping my mate on his round now to do which will take me up to end of the month where I have to do my 1 big commercial job which I do quarterly. So far so good, once me and my mate have finished his round it's canvass time for my round then! Also landed a few good jobs inbetween from no where so everything is going well so far with no regrets to quiting...... Also had a £600 tax rebate and doing a few shifts back in the kitchen this week to cover holiday which is perfect as it's ******* it down !

So overall very happy and anyone thinking of doing the same go for it!! Things just seem to have a habit of working them selves out and we adapt accordingly. Again massive thanks to everyone on here I've learnt so much

:)

Great to hear. Hearing stories like this encourage me to make the leap (Hopefully Feb/March next year) Good luck to you Benji. All the best to you Pal.

Don't wait..get a backpack or diy trolley and a small ro if you can't buy water and get out there

By feb/March you could have a full round with a bit of effort

I tell you mate, there's a lot of reasons I love window cleaning but the most important one is that it gave me the chance to be there for those precious moments with my boys, I was able to be hands on from the beginning when they were babies, bonding with them. I've had jobs in the past where I would've missed a lot of that stuff! So as you say, to be there for family dinners and to tuck the kiddies in at bedtime and read stories, well it doesn't get much better than that! /emoticons/smile.png

I used to do that..nice to be able to do the nursery/school run and spend time with them

Now he's nearly 15 i see him more if he is on school holidays and wants to earn a few quid

Mates and pc..i come at the bottom of the pile

Also no working awkward shifts or weekends

My eldest has just started school last week and I've been able to do a couple of school runs. To see his beaming smile when I collect him from school is priceless.

You're right, these moments don't last forever and before I know it I'll have two moody teenagers to deal with...Yikes :sweating:

When he was at nursery he used to finish an hour before my wife so i used to stop work, pick him up and go home and go back out when she got home

That is great to be able to do
