ro system help

Hi there

I bought a pure freedom set up for spares and got the ro system with it .

From the pic you can see there is only one membrane on the top .

This is how it came as the guy said there was 2 but the bad winter we had a few years ago cracked one of the casing and he bypassed the system.

There is the carbon block / carbon and prefilter and then the resin cannister

Can I still use it as is once all filters are changed or is is dead in the water so to speak

You might be able to buy a spare one from pure freedom, but yeah you can still use it, might be a bit slower, but should still work, try and see what TDS you get :thumbsup:

Hi Jake tds is high 340 ppm .

I have just started out I was harvesting rain water to use but I am not getting enough so I want to get this up and running if I can so I can take more water out with me

if the main part is dicconected depends what your ppm is .. as mine goes through the sediment and carbon filters then into the membrane membrane does most the work

you dont want to be firing through loads of resin check the ppm before the system them just before the resin just to know what your dealing with

Ok thanks peter I know it goes into the sediment then carbon and carbon block then diverted to the membrane it is just the membrane that has been bypassed as there were 2 on it aprently now only one . My tap tds is quite high

So if the tds is high before the resin add a 20 in membrane and that would sort me out to 000 . Sorry I have not really planned ahead on a ro system as my rain water has been coming in at around 10 to 15 ppm
