After umming and agghing for a couple of months the time has come to go for it.

Work situation is changing and looking less stable so a plan b has to be put in place.

Thanks for all the helpful tips on this board , it really is an invaluable source of information for someone looking to start. Cheers.

There is a wealth of knowledge on here that's for sure

Good luck mate

Go for it 100% and you'll be fine

Thanks for the encouragement , just got to sort some gear and formulate a plan!

Looking forward to being my own boss and taking the rewards if I work hard.

Best of luck mate. I'm learning so much on this forum. You'll be fine and dandy

A good day picked up 9 maybe 10 customers and got to price a bigger property on Friday , someone's looking down on me

That's good mate

If your average price was £10 that is a £1200 pay rise if all monthly

That's the best way to look at it

Keep going bud

A busy week of deliveries.

Ladders arrived today from Midland ladders , a delivery of flyers coming tomorrow and more enquiries from word of mouth. Its starting to snowball already.

Hopefully getting out next week for the start.

What time do most people get out , do you wait for the school rush to finish? And then go or get out early.

I try to get to my first job for 9 am

Sometimes i wait till 9 before i leave as the school and work run causes chaos to get across town if i am working the other side

Good on you, let us know how it goes. I try and miss the traffic so I leave between 9 and 10 dependingon how keen I feel, but I never mind working a bit later.

Cambridge is :turd: for traffic in the mornings tolish

Don't blame you for waiting a bit

Yeah, its just not worth it mate. Once you get past 9 o clock its thick, but at least you can still get about. I moved house not long back and its been slow going getting folk in my home town, but when I get more I am toying with the idea of putting a local custy first thing in the morning, and then go on to cambridge after.

Thanks for all your replies.

It's been a great help all the advice and info has really pushed me along!

Whereabouts are you based then @TolishAPurd ?

I know places like cherry hinton etc are all busy that time of the morning

Used to have to get a wagon through there early doors to get to the hospital after a drop up near red lodge towards thetford

I'm just south of it in a village called little shelford mate, but I work in the far reaches of the north of cambridge, so sometimes I have to commute 30mins before starting.

Its got its perks with it, its a nice area so good houses to work on. But I've learnt to work with it instead of fight it.
