Starting to dread getting the squeegee out...

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Have you tried wfp?
Far less mistakes and much faster when done right...
....here we go again.

Sorry Jake this has already been done to death and I've got a job I've got to be at in 10 mins. Have fun arguing with yourself.

Some of you boys must be quick with the wfp as I have houses and I'm trad and next door they be wfp and by the time daveyboy1 has got his wfp set out and on the go I've usually got the fronts done and am finish well b4 him but perhaps he's just slow or I'm the Billy the kid of trad lol ....i think not...

Doesn't bother me in the slightest if I do outsides wfp then Trad on the insides. I don't even think about it.

If for some reason they banned wfp, what would we do?? Go back, or look for another job??

Lol, were talking outsides lee, of course insides is great for trad, in fact I've just literally done the insides of big house trad, and that's great,

But outsides - it's just tedious when your wfp...

It's these little windows that take atkeast twice as long trad, I flew round the outside with wfp, with trad it would have taken... Till tomorrow night :p

I do have a couple I trad outsides, and it really depends how I'm feeling at that specific time. Sometimes I'm actually fine with it, and puts a smile on my face with memories of the old days, and my mate who refuses to switch over, but when I ain't in the mood, it can be torture, yeah. lol

It takes me the same time to set up my wfp as it does to get my ladders off

That's the good thing with my little trolley

Open boot..grab it..take clip off hose..extend pole and I'm working

If you get a van in the future it'll be even faster Dave, then you'll really not want to trad bottoms, as you'll be carrying loads of water so won't really have a reason...

I have Benny back on crew part time at present and he is a massive lover of trad to the point where he can wax romantically about it for half the day.

We are growing the round again and Benny wants me to add in a 'Trad' option and says he will do those.

That's a well and good but he also says he is only back for 12-18 months as he has plans of his own for down the road.

What do I do then as I am strictly in the WFP camp? I already have a process where if a WFP house is £20 and they want trad then it's £30 as I know my system works as well as my squeegee and it is just the customer wanting to live in the dark ages. But when Ben does go, should I have built a 'Trad division' what then? Do I up them all 50% or just say 'Sorry luv, WFP or walk on'

Oh the conundrums of the modern Window Cleaner

Why is trad called the dark ages.

There's thousands that still do it & enjoy doing it. Myself included.

Why do I get a good percentage of my jobs off wfp windies.

Still I like doing both & always will.

I'm totally trad at the moment, and very proud of it. Every time these threads come about I end up being accused of being anti WFP, when I am actually very pro WFP. I'll possibly be investing in a few years time, but it just doesn't fit my business plan at the moment. I'm well aware of both methods shortcomings, the key is maximising the benefits of each method and using them to your advantage, which I do well.

If I were you Green I would let him have his play. If hes good, which I imagine he is if he enjoys it so much, then he will only bring more to your business. If/when he decides to leave you can make them switch to WFP, and anyone that wants to leave will leave. There are many people that won't care one bit, so long as they are clean, and you are pleasant every time you see them. Nought to lose really.

When you say it doesn't fit your business plan @TolishAPurd , why's that? Out of interest?

I'm not anti trad, I used to stick up for trad when I was 100% trad,

But now I'm wfp, I can judge both, and I really really am glad I went wfp, miles better for business...
