Yep I like doing insides on a decent sized houseKeep a pack of overshoes in van ( plastic slip over your boots) and don't use applicator just a damp sill cloth then squeege
I just slip my trainers off on the doorstep

Insides is the only time i use a bucket as i can't spray water out my bottle everywhere

Only a little water in the bucket

I use a washing up sponge/scourer to applicate the windows if covered in spots of cack and squeegee off

Saves scraping

Saw that on a post or a vid somewhere..maybe on here

Saves time and effort though

I got 1 like that a couple months agoHad a wfp guy who didn't do insides

Now i do in and out each month and her parents and sisters outside each month

And their insides when needed

All because their guy wouldn't do insides i took all 3 houses from him

It pays to do it
I agree Dave

I lost a nice £40 outside WFP job cos I kept putting off doing inside due to nightmare conny roof

I use one of those unger spray bottles on a belt for insides, you should check them out daveyboy, beats carrying a bucket around imo  Although they can get in the way sometines, but I could guarantee I'd kick that bucket over at some point!

I use a sprayer sometimes but i like to have a choice of what to use in my bucket

I tend to use my wagulator when possible which goes well with a sprayer

If they're bad I'll use bucket and sponge and no scrubber on wag which is lighter and easier to use without it

Never knocked a bucket over in 26 years in a house

I tend to leave it near to doorway of whichever room i am doing so i can't step into it not looking

Stood in one in blockbuster video a few years ago and knocked it over though

Everyone to their own. I cant keep up with what I've got, so id rather lose a job with insides than do them
Always time to do someones insides while you're already there

Leave bucket by door, slip shoes off, dunk applicator in bucket, mop window, blade window with applicator mirroring your blade catching the water, mop up any drips with a used cloth. Simples.

+1 simple as that

Insides can be a pain, but if the house is nice and tidy, its quicker than doing the outside as no ladder needed, no extra petrol either.

One other reason I like doing them that rarely gets mentioned is that it makes my work outside look all the more impressive. When the glass is like a mirror and they look out, it makes them realise how good a job you do. I wonder how many of our customers look out the windows and moan how bad they look, whilst they've not cleaned the inside in 2 years.

nobody likes a jack of all trades folks stick to the basic window gutter and powerwashing an u do ok

no offense to anyone on here who does the offer of everything from putting a bracket up for hanging basket to putting xmas lights up on top of house lol

Mr Green,

Your plan what to stick to is good (in my opinion).

And for any newbies starting out on there own take on a lot less.

Stick to the basics, window clean, gutter clean, the odd easy painting job (on aspare day) & especially stay away from inside jobs unless commercial (or maybe the odd dear to help out).

I can't see why any window cleaner would not want to clean inside a nice big detached house - I do some nice half days at the same property - one inside takes me all day £160 inside only so I save it for bad weather

How can you not clean insides when you advertise yourself as a window cleaner lol

I tell them from the start I don't do insides from the start. Never lost a customer through this, never been a problem in the 21years I've been doing this. As I said, each to their own

I love doing the insides, usually get asked as I start the first window on the outside. So I say yeah no probs tell them to clear the way and I'll do them after I finish. No hassle. Boab with a bit of diluted ubik on the mop too and it's happy days. Same price as outsides. Nice that customer trusts you enough to just walk about their house too, I feel the bond is closer with the customer and less likely to replace you.

Another one I keep getting asked for is the back windows with no access than going through the house, done a few having to trail the hose through.....pain in the bum

Bought a back pack on the weekend do hopefully do them on the spot now instead. :)
