Diwrnach I would love to learn from u my friend /emoticons/smile.png

Thanks for the input lads

Gosh thats a lot of water for 5 first cleans even in my book who admittedly does use too much water but I blame my OCD for that. I know how it is Haz, you want to get it absolutley spotless before you can leave it alone, I'm the same, hinges on patio doors, the gaps between the ledge and the bottom framed washed out until the water is pure coming back out with no dirt, some of them just keep on throwing dirt out for ages! To save some water to really help you try using Ubik first up, I apply to the brush for the tops then scrub up, leave a few seconds then start to clean, that really helps, for bottoms the same but I use a few cloths to really hand wipe down all the frames, vents etc, then start to go at it with your pure water to rinse it all off fully so not to streak. Just try to be sure there keepers before spending over a hour on each house!!

I bet @Jake would have sleepless nights hearing about how much your getting through

Absolutely Trev ! The sills get a very good rinse until every little piece of dirt is out !

Not good this, I do a good job but you've got to be careful, what if the new customer tells you to leave em from now on after you've done all that work, I tell em it takes 3 cleans to get em right now it helps with customer retention.

Valid point but it does depend on how much you value your reputation and what the customers expectations are, I think most of the time anyway you can gauge if their a one off merchant or wanting you for the duration. The way I do it is lay out what can be done on the first the clean and price it higher depending on the state of them, I think their far more likely to hold on to you if you do a A1 job first up. From my experience they are happy to pay it too. Picked up a couple today while leafletting both 16 4 weekly but both chuffed with a £30 first clean.

I guess for those not happy paying a first clean premium for whatever reason you could always state thats fine but the results won't be apparent after just one clean, aslong as they know what they are getting it should be ok, just personally I like to do a proper clean first up, always looks good for my local reputation.

When i finish with the first clean customers always be amazed at the job i have done... and the tips i pick up on first cleans is better then Xmas tips /emoticons/smile.png

So i must be doing something right.. haha

Yes Haz - 600L is average...........
For 50 - 70 houses.

Not 6.

Unless of course you do Downton and the 5 other neighbouring manor houses daily.
Got a puzzle for u mate

Bob cleans 60 houses with 600 liters of water

I clean 6 houses with 600 liters of water

End of the day hes used his 600 liters of water and so have i.....

Ive gained something from it and im happy and so is Bob.

Whats the difference ?

The difference is you have used your pre filters and used up more resin meaning you have l slightly less profit. But if you are happy, up to you what you do

As long as every 1 is happy with what they earn etc then that is the main thing /emoticons/smile.png

Bob has in excess of £600 in his pocket.

Even with your amazing tippers doubt you have in excess of £100 in your pocket.

That's the difference.

And before you decide how holy you are, none of us do this for love, it's all about the money. (That's what we love)

Bob has earned at least £600 and you have earned £60. That's the difference I see. If you want to faff about then that's fine, but some people need to make a living.

How do you not know that i charge £40-60 per first clean ? haha

Business is floating very good at the moment

its obvious he enjoys his work & wants his jobs done to a high standard!!it must be a hobby rather than a business.there are a few window cleaners who work like this.each to there own.

Did 13 new cleans today all sparkling happy customers 270litres
i use 25 litres on an average maintenance clean house.... so 13 x 25litres of water = 325 litres on a maintenance clean whilst you use 270 litres on 13 first cleans !

You surely are the man ! #thewayforward
