Hi guys

Going to buy a gardiner slx, but which one 18ft or 25ft.

100% of work will be residential of standard 2 floor houses (including ground ) and 2 floor with veluxe etc.

Also 6 or a 8mm pole hose.

Can't see me needing much other hose as working off backpack. Can someone clarify this though.

Also what other connections etc do I need. Obviously some kind of tap. What about hose connections etc.

Cheers guys

18 will reach all two story houses (1 story officially) like pic below:

25 ft will be needed if you have any 3 story houses like this below: (officially actually 2 story, but we we all call them 3 story houses)

My 25' will reach all 3 story houses, but you would struggle to reach velux windows at 3 story height (the ones that are on the roof of the house) so if you have any of them you'll also need some extension sections or an even higher pole

Thanks jake exactly what I meant.

I only want 1 pole until I get some customers. Am I better buying the 25 and using it on everything. Is there much weight issues or negative effects using a 25 over 18?

Also I'm going for a gardiner back pack mounted to a trolley. What hose and connections are needed.

Also which extension for those roof veluxe 6 or 8? More than 1 ??

Cheers mate.

You'll need a 25 and then about two extension sections for velux,

You'll have all the info on the Gardiner website with regards to what extension sections to choose, just click on the extension section page and have a look, the descriptions tell you what section fits onto what pole

As for connections, choose the ezsnap connevtikns (rectus 21 fittings) male and female, they just connect together,

Jake was a big help then too
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:Ahh you kids make me laugh!! /emoticons/tongue.png J/K Jakes always helpful (Mostly)

I have both 18 and 25 SLX there is a substantial difference in weight when used all day, 90% of my work is 18ft, maybe ask @Alex Gardiner if there is a modular extension for the 18ft perhaps (such a light litle brush you wont even know you're using it.

Also as for a tap, no need as there is an on off switch on all the backpacks I know of.

Cheers guys

Green what kind of weight differance. As in that's seriously more heavy or just a bit heavier?

Also as it's trolley mounted too would it not be wise to have a valve closer to hand?

Yeah the 18 is very light, it's also my everyday pole green, I think there is an extension section for the 18, but I still think it's a good idea to have both of funds allow, I was thinking a 25 with extensions would reach all residential houses,

With an 18 you'd need a lot of extensions, might work out more expensive that way,

Hopefully the OP will be able to buy both /emoticons/wink.png

The weights are all on the website,

But you would notice it over a day, the 18 feels much much lighter, but then so does a 25 over a 30/35... And so on... Lol

As a first pole an SLX25 will do 99% of your work. We don't do velux windows unless we are asked and can reach them. We suggest customers to do them from the inside as they flip around.

My SLX22 will just reach the loft room windows in Jake's second picture. Daughter has just bought a new build house and that loft window is set further back with their front garden sloping away from the door.

I doubt even my son's SLX25 will reach them.

Cheers guys.

Oh predicament!! Funds don't allow both and being part time I'm talking 1 to 1 1/2 days a week I don't really want to spend that much on 2 poles especially straight off the mark.

Thing is where I live the housing is so so varied. Loads of 1 and 2 story places. A million veluxe as everyone has had loft conversions etc.

Think your right jake would work out alot of money and ball ache with so many extension pieces.

18 with extension takes it to around 22 I think or just a standard 25 ???? Arghh

Headache ensues!

i use a slx25 all day and im no bodybuilder and its easy to be honest. its the only pole i have at the moment but so far it does everything i need it to. before i bought a pole i was told you will never want to work all day with a pole that can clean 3 story its too heavy.this was a blow as i couldnt afford 2 poles so my plan was to have the slx 25 and remove some sections to make it light enough for everyday use. one day using it and thought stuff that its fine as it is.dont be worried unless your 4ft8 and weigh 3 stone a slx25 will do your for 8 hours straight no problem

Yeah get the 25, and just take a section or two off when you don't need the height, you'll just need to make sure you look after the base as you won't have an end cap when you take off the sections,

But you can but spare end caps, so you might be able to find one that fits

He'll teach you how to use just 750L of water in 10 days too if you're good :D
So far tuffers I've done two big offices Monday, and today, and 3 residentials, and still got half a tank left, you guys using loads of water have issues

Today's job:

And still loads of water left, I reckon you guys rinse way too much :p:D

The back is even bigger, has a massive glass section, yet still don't go through that much water, strange really, or is it you guys that go through 500litres a day that are strange :D:p

Just get the 25 and take off the bottom section till needed.
Going to sell my 25 early next year as I am going for a 47ft xtreme so wont need all 3 /emoticons/smile.png)
I think @Alex Gardiner would advise against that. Something to do with base sections being insulated against electric shock IIRC.

My own personal opinion is to buy a 30 or 35ft pole. I have a 30ft pole which reaches nearly all residential windows. a 35ft I reckon I would find easier. If you have to fully extend each section you end up with lots of slack in the pole which can make cleaning the 2nd storey (what most people call the 3rd storey) quite difficult.

WHAT!!!!!!!?????

It's not weird to me, always been like that, maybe it's the one shot tuffers :rofl:/emoticons/tongue.png/emoticons/biggrin.png

Couldn't resist a one shot mention for the record,

I don't know why I can make the water last that long, but I also don't joe how it's even possible that some windies go through so much water, it's insane to me....

750l will last a week on residential, and up to 10 days at a push,

Usually a week on average
