As these are only used for detailing and so only have water on them is it ok just to dry them and not bother putting them in washing machine? (I just put them on an airer.) I wash sill cloths as they get mucky.

I just bung them in the wash. The scrims take the dirty water from around the edges of the window and the seals, so I would rather get rid of that then let it dry on.

Not really as they soak up all the fairy, so if you let them dry naturally, then use them again, you'll leave fairy liquid streaks behind,

Plus they always get dirty anyway?

I generally dry mine off on a radiator in an office if I'm cleaning commercials. They don't get too wet as detailing is kept to a minimum!

WHen I do wash them- sill cloths, micro fibres and scrims do it at 40 degrees, which I know is ok for sill and micofibres, but does anyone regularly wash their scrim at 90 degrees? (you re supposed to!)

If I wash my scrims at home they go on a 30 degree quick wash. Once every 2 months I clean a place that has a laundry room. I always get there early and wash em in their machine on a 90. They come up like new

I have loads maybe 55 cloths and wash mine once a week usually at 60degree then i in the dryer, makes them all clean. Like mentioned they streak if you just dry them

I remember the days of scrims

I had a whole black bin bag full in the end as i would "borrow" them of any of the guys i was working with while subbing

Can do the same amount of work with a handfull of decent micros

I cant only use a handful, use in general 1 or 2 pr house. I just wipe the edges all way round just so im sure theyre perfect

Some people swear by scrim

My last 1 went in the bin yesterday after wiping dog muck off my boot

Micro fibres are better, aren't they? No hairs! So I guess I should wash my microfibers, scrims everytime they get wet! Sometimes I run out of them and dry them on my car windows incase I need them again.

buy a decent sized stash to take with you each day . iv several workers and each morning put 50 scrim in the van, usually use 30 but the other 20 are in there case summat crops up a filthy conservatry

best to own at least double what you need daily ,so that you can let some dry for over 24 hours

When i was 100% trad i could use the same 2 or 3 microfibres for pretty much the whole week

Couple of old ones for sill cloths which just rinse under custys tap

2 or 3 for detailing which i hardly do any of anyway with my liquidators or home modded channels

Especially my hybrid wagga and polzn bladz modded wagtail channel i using at the moment

Once 1 is damp hang over car seat and use another and rotate

Wash them at weekend

I have about 8 now so don't wash any for around 4 weeks now wfping tops

So basically you think it should be ok miss one wash and just dry them?

2 would do me a day sometimes 1 if I'm on my lunch I'd hang it up to dry , IMO scrims are far better than microfibers they dry quicker also

I don't like scrim ever since nicking some guys microfibre once lol

Each to their own

Depends how dirty they are

If they have just been used for detailing and they are still clean but wet then dry it out while using another and then wash when they are actually getting dirty

If i use 1 for detailing and i know the frames and glass are clean just wet I would shove it on my dashboard or over headrest and use it again later

Saying that though i have such minimal detailing that often 1 would last all day without being wet

Usually just used to wipe off a spot of muck stuck on the glass
