Dirty Marks Cleaning

Conservatory roof cleaning £45.00

Washing machine repair call out £45.00 (before he has done anything)

Ladies Hair cut and colour £60.00

And they say about the conservatory roof..."I didn't think it would be that much!"

I know what you are saying but lets be honest it aint rocket science and you can easily do it yourself ref the roof. But you cant cut your own hair or repair your washing machine without the knowledge.

Knowledge or lack of is irrelevant Pad man. I do cut my own hair as I am sure one or two others in here may take the clippers to the old chrome dome once in a while.

You aren't paying the washing machine man for his education you are paying for the time it will take him to fix the machine.

Just as you pay us for our time.

Anyone can give their windows a wipe over but to do it properly and to a good standard is skilled imo

Otherwise there wouldn't be people like the guy i met today who is a silent member on here saying they have learnt a lot from this forum even though he's been cleaning windows for 25 years like me

I certainly have learnt things on here

If it was unskilled what would there be to learn?

I fixed my washing machine by using my noodle and looking to see what was wrong

I think window cleaning is a skilled trade. It can be learned and practised as anything else. To start as a business it's not even cheap. You need good tools, ladders, clean your water, van, insurance, etc.

In my opinion the differente is they need to cut their hair (ladies), they need to wash, but they can live without clean windows.

I think to have a window cleaner is a kind of luxury service.

Lets be honest. It's not that skilled. You won't see apprenticeships in window cleaning any time soon.

Not like carpentry engineering farming etc

You need 'some' skills that mostly come with experience to be a good window cleaner, what ever method you use.

If it was as easy as litter picking or packing orders in a warehouse etc then the results should be the same if you hand your tools to joe bloggs in the street to have a go.

The fact is he/she would no doubt make a complete mess of it, also there are many other skills and financial outlays required when running a successful window cleaning business that makes it in my opinion a skilled trade to get right.

I don't care how you guys rate your service, but I am a skilled professional and I charge accordingly. /emoticons/biggrin.png

Yep annoying isn't it!

£25 for a dominoes pizza every weekend,

But £15 for a window clean every 5 weeks is 'a bit much'

It's like, 'WHAT'!!!!!!!

Madness, what sort of job are you going to be doing for 20 nicker? Do the roof, leave the finial, leave the gutters, not bother with the plastic frames...... I suppose you get what you pay for?

I liken a monthly window clean bill to a mobile phone bill. Custy, shall I have an iPhone 6S at £45 a month or shall I have a cheap phone and get my windows done too for the same price. That's how I think people veiw their window cleaning bill.
