will do mate cheers, im trying to find out how many custies and average prices before i decide anything.

The main thing that concerns me about buying a round is i have my own way of doing things, i dont collect for a start, if its an older trad round i reckon itll be cash collection mainly

So you would insist on being shown round and introduced first to all custies?

is this the done thing when buying? if i was selling i would be a bit wary about showing a potential buyer my entire round for fear of being undercut or something

Just trying to gauge whether the 3k would be better spent on paying a canvasser

been here and done this so many times I am an expert now mate lol I can smell I bull **** round befoue they have opened there mouth lol to long to write what I know on here and what ive learnt buying work

This is always a problem. You won't change that ethos overnight, so you will probably loose most of them because of payment.

That is a question you need to ask the seller.

You also need to get a clear idea of what houses they are (new builds, 3 bed semi Victorian, bay windows etc. and well as frequency of clean. Also how accessible are they? Parking etc.

Again trad rounds for sale are usually under-priced. Why is he selling it? Why didn't he convert it to wfp if he had the opportunity to do so?

Does he know the names of the majority of his customers?

I would tend to canvass my own round now rather than pay anyone to do it
. We did buy a trad round and took the chance when converting it to wfp. It was very compact work, very under priced as they cleaned glass only with no detailing. We paid 2 cleans and paid half up front after being introduced to customers (cleaned the properties together trad) and the other half after the second clean, deducting the ones we didn't retain. Most were dormers so most customers were happy we used wash and reach as we didn't walk on their roof tiles. They were skeptical on the quality of the clean as it was early wfp days.

Plus side was that it was very compact work. Down side was they they didn't want to pay more for the frames to be cleaned.

Plus side was that they were cleaned every 2 weeks. Downside is that they started turning us away as the windows were still clean. They didn't want to pay a small premium for 4 weekly cleans.

I've seen you on here saying you need more work, so this could be a great opportunity. Not sure if you've given up your job yet, but if you have then this could fill the void nicely until you get sorted, even if it means you have to do them trad before selling them on again once you get busy.

As for checking out the round, maybe pick 3 houses at random and go check them out?

Is this the one in eBay in Wakefield? I've messaged the guy a few times but he never replies? And it's gone off eBay now

3 Cleans is a good price if the round has been cleaned by the current owner for a few years. I think from previous posts you have been down the canvasser route which really is roll the dice and take your chances.

yes @OutlaneWC

i know, i messaged him loads and he never replied

so i bid on it instead lol

then he replied wanting a deposit

asked him for the details first so waiting to see if he gets back to me

Fk messaging, you need to be getting a number and talking to him to find the cut of his jib.

Allready sounds suspect to me.....

If i have an item for sale nd you message me i reply...

When i sell rounds the deal is you come to my house, i show you the paperwork and lists, you pay a deposit 50%, then i take tou round and introduce you to the customers.

If you're happy, you pay the balance and it's yours....if not.....well i dont know as everyone i sold too is happy. /emoticons/smile.png

Is it normal to ask for a deposit when selling a round?

What guarantees would there be that he would sell to you?

......both genuine questions as I've never bought a round before.

apparently the guy selling it on ebay is advertising it on behalf of his father in law who is selling due to ill health

anyway will sort it out after crimbo. probably come to nowt anyway

Like green says, it sounds suss to me. Message him for his phone number, if he don't reply forget it. And don't part with any money before you are certain it's cosher.

i brout a trad round off a guy £140 odd quids wrth of wrk for £70 lol he did not want it any more as it was to high so he interduced me to 90 percent of them i went in wfp tops trad bottoms turned out fine not lost a single job ganed 1 job on the road to G-)

for got to say he said pay me after u have cleaned them a few times to make shore ur happy ect with the wrk very trusting guy

The last work I bought the guy took me around the run and posted a letter saying he's too much work now bla bla bla, you will always lose a few customers due to them not caring if they are cleaned or not, I lost a few as well as the weather was bad and I was a couple weeks behind. It was a traditional run, this was last year and iv only started to convert the benificial houses to wfp , bit of a job convincing them at the start as traditional is all they know

Yeah I was messaging for a bit more info but he never replied so I didn't bother chasing that! He reckoned he was sell for his father in law that wasn't very well but sounds abit suspect to me! I saw some idiot bidding on it lol
