Would you buy a trad round?

I need a bit more work so am going out leafletting next week and at every opportunity thereafter until i have enough work..won't take long and a whole lot cheaper than paying someone

And I still use a typewriter for the 3 or 4 invoices that I issue each week. The small amounts for most businesses are hand written cash receipts

1. I would never buy a round, I can get as many customers as I want?2. It's the year 2016, nearly, why is the guy selling? Just convert to wfp, the only people that should be trading are people with no driving licences?
Here we go again

Stick wagglers who think they are above tradders

I suppose next we will hear how tradders leave marks on the glass blah blah waffle waffle

Have you ever tradded a window in your life to be able to judge

I have tradded for quarter of a century and now wfp and trad and it is the same just depends on personal preference

When will these people learn that just because they can brush a window with a pole that they are not superior

Yes I gave one ago off Gumtree yes got the names on paper called all the people on the list and confermed the bookings paid the money. All was good iv lost the contact details now. So iv advertised on Gumtree for a canverser of my own same as green did he starts in January. Il be making money on first cleans after iv paid him a div should be able to get one an hour and even if you paid him £10 hour you should still make money off the first clean. And if he ain't any good not done a lot of money il just get another one.
Me to Andy. I have a guy who I meeting on Wednesday says he has 20 years experience canvassing for all sorts of stuff, so giving him a go two days a week canvassing and another two helping me with my tree work which IF i can get the window stuff up to a decent level I will knock the tree work on the head. I am getting to old for climbing these days + employing people as the tree game is very labour intensive is just mega aggro.

I do 8 of my regular garden customers windows traditionally, but have now bought a pole and backpack, so going to add the WTP method as well. Fingers crossed for 2016 /emoticons/smile.png

I must say I have found this site very, very helpful for a newbie in the window lark. So thanks everyone.

I tradded for 17 years

dont get it poles apart, there are guys who are trad done it for years made gd living out of it,so there is no reason for them to go WFP after all its there choice.

?Which is why the guy was out of order saying I've never traded? Just my opinion that's all I've been there and done it, when I was 44 I asked myself why would I want to run up and down ladders when I could "waggle a stick" as he put it.

Some people like to trad and putting them.down by saying it's just for people without a licence is out of order also just because you choose not to trad

I just get defensive as there is a constant theme on these forums of trad bashing by people who should realise that all methods have a place and are just a means to an end which is putting money in our pockets and paying our bills

Theres more than 1 way to clean a window, some prefer one and some prefer another...

My personal pref is always WFP for many a reason, WFP was the main reason I went into full time window cleaning, I like the system for speed, cleanliness, ability to clean ladder inaccessible windows, I belive it's a better way to clean glass/frames (my opinion only) and has helped me gain lots of other work such as connys and g/s/f by folk seeing the system and wanting work done that way on their home. Also high up commercial stuff that I'd of had to of turned down if I did not wfp to mention just a few.

Saying all that, I do love doing a bit of trad, I enjoy doing inside glass when I get asked, thats the only time I ever do any, it is very skillful to do at a good pace, watch many a utube video (still do) and for the guys that do it day in day out I have the upmost respect for.

Just like any other trade, one guy might turn up and do it his way and the next tradesmen might come along and do it totally different, but with similar results.

@Trev81 i love my wfp but i also am very attached to my trad gear

90% of the time i wfp everything nowadays but break out the trad gear on bottoms when the mood suits

I tradded for 25 years and still enjoy it

All credit to those who still do it as i think wfp has made life easier for me

But i will always defend the guys who let's be honest graft harder for their money tradding as it is their choice and fair play if someone wants to hump ladders about all day to earn their dosh

I bet they're a bit fitter than a lot of wfp guys too lol

well looks like im not buying the round afterall as he isnt responding.

I will be leafletting/canvassing heavily come next week, already been advertising for a canvasser so going to get on with that again as well.

I also recently contacted a canvasser off gumtree, think the name was paul? talked about him doing some in the new year, charges 2x and replaces drop outs apparently.

so maybe will give him a shot as well.

Was just looking for a head start by buying a round but at the rate ive been getting car valeting enquiries this last week i think i should be ok money wise so i can i build my round up on my my own and save the money for a nice holiday reward in the summer
