Thanks

Professionally fitted? What is stopping the tank moving from side to side? Looks to me like the owner has wedged a piece of wood either side up against the wheel arches tp stop the tank moving.
This van has been advertised on Ebay before.

Here's another example of what not to buy. Thin ratchet straps hooked on the cargo load securing eyes.

2011 Peugeot Expert 2.0HDi 120 L2 H1 Window Cleaning Van Hot Water

This is probably a good example of a quality van for sale. The equipment has been fitted correctly.

WINDOWS CLEANING VAN,WITH IONIC HOT WATER SYSTEM

Its been for sale on Ebay about 3 times that I recall. The price has been reduced. Its probably good value for money as it has a diesel heater as well. Unfortunately most window cleaners can't afford that sort of money.

As with anything second hand, expect to have to replace membranes and prefilters. Replace the Ionics resin filters with an ordinary di vessel.
I looked at this one but like you said it is a little on the pricey side. Though am coming round to the fact that i might need to spend a little to get a good van and system that won't let me down!!! Thanks for the advice!!!

Thanks all for you advice, it's allot to take in and i'm going to do my research and take my time over this i think. I'm not sure the trad root is for me as i'm not that great on ladders and don't like the idea of not having a spotter on hand. I have worked up ladders in past jobs and it's not for me although i do completely see the logic in the low cost start and building up a round.

as the boys have said get yourself second hand van and the lads on here can tell you the gear to buyfraction of price
That's what I did. Got an old old old, cheap cheap cheap 2nd hand van but spent x3 as much on the gear......and then transferred it over into a new van once I'd saved enough.

Sounds like and idea. Just need to gain the experience to be able to transfer the gear once the old van dies. Maybe get and old high mileage T5 as that is bound to be a little more reliable?

Have you thought how much water you want to carry?

If you are a one man band working all day then 500l of water should be more than enough for you.

You need to look at the vans payload. My van ford connect lwb t230 payload is just under 1000.

Ive seen loads of window cleaners driving the same van as me in london.

These French vans are popular with a few on here but imo ford vans are toughest van you can get.

The only downsize to the van I got it a two seater not three.

I suggest you go have a look at your local used vans for sell to get an idea but remeber vans payload is important

Just got an old despatch - love it

It's great size and it's solid - I always run old vans as I can't be arsed lookin after em

Been reading posts and there's good advice - @jimmyboots threads are very helpful mate

All the best

Another bit of advice - if you were considering big loan .. Buy a round - that will triple in value whereas a van will lose its value

Great I might well do that! I have a Vivaro camper and under the skin that's a FRENCH van so suppose I can't really talk lol

Will have a look at the Connect LWB as well, they are good vans!

Thanks for your help!

Buy cheap. You may find you don't like window cleaning.

Upgrade when your round is established.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I think this is the way I will go. I know I enjoy the job as been doing it a while for someone else just want my own little round and equipment now

your wfp setup will be fine if bought new, nothing can go wrong with it,

Pump+Controller £159

Leisure battery ==£60-£80

battery charget = £20-£50

reel + hose £60 £130

pole £100 - £250

water tank, =£130 - £250

Hosepipe + fittings £?

the only equip you need new are pump + controller , 2nd hand you cant be sure

rest of gear second hand ok, but still check out for leaks. ebay gumtree.

You can always look to buy a round. advertise yourself to buy a round + equipment

i started with a backpack. when things took off i got a van + setup, everything off ebay or off people on forums. DONT RUSH INTO IT,

THE MAIN THING TO GET 100% RIGHT IS MAKING YOUR PURE WATER AND GETTING IT ALL SETUP AS YOU NEED IT. where you are going to set up RO tubing etc, water butt to store your pure, pump to transfer to van tank, water outlet tap to hook up onto your RO

this was difficult for me because my kitchen is on the front of my house, making it an eyesore having big storage tanks outside.

it took me a long time to get it right,
