Had one quote from A plan so far. Anyone use anyone else?

I'm after fully comp and some cover if my vans off the road.

Going to have a WFP system in it too.

Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Thanks all.

I'm with Aviva and had my renewal come yesterday. £365, fully comp, NCD protected, legal expenses and a replacement van if I'm involved in an accident. Seems a bit steep to me.

For me to get really good insurance with tank declared ncb protected low excess. Replacement van etc would be about 600
I've got the full n.c.b. I have it protected. I've declared my tank and alloy wheels. £440

Thats interesting. I only have 3 years NCB as i did not have a car for a year in 2012 so for me with tank declared and signage declared etc like for like replacement on my equipment my renewal next month will be £635.

That's with Adrian Flux

I was quoted £490 originally from them, I told them I'd had a cheaper estimate online, they put me through to a retention centre and came up with a lower price

I went with Alex Swan in the end. Really impressed with the service I got from them. I delt with a lady called Sharon who helped me sort some issues I had with my car insurance.

Took out Van and equipment Insurance. Liability Insurance and Medical cover for me. Cost me just over a grand for 12 months.

No tank in mine. Trad all the way. £200 as I've said. Hahahahaha. As I also said me youngest daughter worked at Adrian flux and sorted it. She's since left. Wonder how much the renewal will be in august

Had my insurance renewal , 760 without claiming my tank , if I claimed it with my tank that insurance company wanted 2000!!!! Iv 2 accidents under my belt and 1 years no claim

Do you have to 'claim' a water tank? Surely if they know what you do for work that's what there insuring?!

Seems like a load of ******** to me...

Yes, I said to them can I not carry an empty one and they said no incase I fill it up , only interested in money . Insurance is a f*cking scam !

No really mate @CHWS You say 2 accidents and only 1 years no claims what do you expect them to say? £20 mate?

I have 3 years no claims, (I was prior to that overseas in Jersey, yes believe it or not it is overseas) and I have 6 points (one red light and one 36 in a 30, could have avoided all points if I had gone on the course but just couldn't be arsed), my traffic valued at £3k and my WFP equipment valued at £3k and for like for like replacement for van and gear my premium is £635 for the coming year.

I drive like Miss Daisy these days so I don't have to pay daft insurances.

I am sorry mate but you talk about 2 accidents and only 12 months no claims and you think they are scamming you? I personally wouldn't insure you and I like a gamble!!

No the scam is where it comes in for a water tank. If your going to have an accident your going to have one, my first accident a car pulled put from nowhere and my second last year I was doing 20mph when it was icey hit ice and then another car and a car went into the back off me, after that accident while at the side of the road a car came flying down off the road and clipped the car I hit , a bus stop was near by , the bus had stopped and was sliding , that morning on the same point a lemonade man's van crashed and hit a Lampost, my mate crashed same spot a week before , 4 car pile up the week before as well. All in a housing estate about a mile long road with 2 primary schools at each end and they said it's not a main road and doesn't get gritted?! Rant over there but anyway for an insurance company to quote me an extra 1300 for a water tank is scandalous !!!!

remember to declare every modifications / sunstrips, alloys ,bolted in shelving ,even signwriting etc if you dont your technically not insured. if you dont declare the sunstrip you may as well not declare the water tank

Their reasoning is that a couple of tonnes of vehicle hitting something at say 60 mph will do enough devastation, add into that another half tone plus of water and tools and well the damage is going to be that much more.

If you learn to drive at 17 an croak at 65 you will have paid enough insurance on a car to pay off at lest one house, if not two. I agree insurance is not cheap but I agree it is essential

Totally, they asked if I had alloys, I said 'No, I got hub caps and seat covers' he said 'that's no problem' /emoticons/smile.png)
