It's been bad up here for sure. I'll bet there's been more wet days than dry since last October.

I'm glad I don't have set days for my window cleaning only set weeks that helps a lot as i can do them monday or Friday it makes no odds

 
i sack anyone who continually moans . customer or employee. nobody likes a moaner

I live with my middle daughter. Or rather she lives with me. Hasn't stopped moaning for 25 years. She's her mothers daughter

 
I agree mate. It's usually ok here in norfolk. Always get it all done. Poor lads up North must struggle

iv found over the years if you give them a real fright it puts stop to moaning . someone close to me suddenly stopped moaning after i told her id recently seen a foraging tube from a termite dangling from her ceiling . id been watching Attenborough on tv this gave me the idea.

Lol. I don't take any notice of her mate. She text me today and said can I go to the shop while I'm at work and get the curry sauce and some veg. I forgot the veg! Now she don't want the curry. I just said sort your own tea matey. I'm having curry. Moan to someone who gives a :turd:

 
I posted in the weather thread last night it was going to be pants today, it wasn't. got 16 out of 20 done with those left being rural properties.

Always work in the rain and rarely get a comment, they're conditioned not to say owt!

if you think carefully most women hate insects . my ex hated bees/ i told her casually with a deadpan voice a friend was giving me two beehives for our garden.

i keep my own missus in check now this last yr i have a [small] collection of harmless tarantulas . but it nearly backfired on me when a baby baboon spider id been given[with nasty bite] got loose, i was poopin myself as it got away in my bedroom my side of the bed.

 
I am praying for cold weather wouldn't that be lovely, cold crisp sunny winter days of old? I don't feel comfortable cleaning customers windows in rain no matter what the results. I have a schedule that works, I do rounds according to weeks of the month for example one round is done on the first Thursday of the month, another round is done on the third Friday of the month and so on........... If I am late say the weather is rubbish on the first Thursday of the month round I'll go the next day or even the day after that if it's bad Friday, then next month it revers back to the first Thursday, this experiment has worked so far all winter even with all the rain plus when I call access issue customers the night before or to arrange payment most of the customers are expecting me it' worked a treat much better than weekly cycles.

I don't get or understand why you 'set' certain days or weeks when you should get round. If you tell the customer its roughly every 6 weeks unless the weathers pony, that's it, no pressure on yourself.

This way you can have time off for holidays etc and there's no need to try and 'catch up', you just start your work from where you left off because your not aiming for certain weeks. Been doing this for over 20 years and its never been a problem, it just takes the pressure off

Theres no pressure with set days either. Dint stress me out at all. I find that by Friday everything is usually done anyhow. And if it isnt...... well i'm not so wound tight I would let it stress me out.

 
I never stress. If I'm behind which is most of the time then I'm behind. Think my customers are used to me now. They know I'll be around sooner or later. Got the odd ones that might tex but soon put them right.

 
Just been a wash out in Scotland, had the 2nd day of Sun today, last week was Wednesday. Worked 2.5 days last wk, 1 day the wk before due to the storms coming through, Windows are filthy after them as well, I know a fair few windys n they all have been hammered by the winter, just rain n driving wind. Regarding training the custys to accept you cleaning in the rain, the Scottish dinnae take it, they look at you as if your daft n desparate, n they are right, that's what I am, you can't pull the wool over their eyes, BAAAA

 
I was going but it's on tv & that's rare that I can sit in with a can in the warm & watch em.

Only happens once in a blue moon so make the most of it.

Other way round I'm afraid it takes the pressure off, this experiment has been in place so long now it's satisfied me that it works, for example because of xmas I was a week late on my 3rd Friday of the month round but because my customers know it's the 3rd Friday of the month they expected me next time in 3 weeks, this especially suits elderly retired customers who are generally well organised and put things on calendars I have 2 ladies who do their shopping Friday morning knowing I am there after eleven, I don't even have to phone them, one even gets the key off next door the day before (who works) so I can get to the back and she pays for the 2. If it's raining she knows I will be there the next day or even the day after. As for holidays I have about 10 days off xmas and 2 weeks in the summer. My work is scheduled over a 4 day week with the flexibility of using Saturdays and the odd sunday used for "catch up" so this works and takes the pressure off.
