It was for a long time believed by many that if you only worked from a mobile you were not a proper business.

In the modern world we all live and die with our phones and only dish out the mobile numbers.

Does anyone here still give out a landline number? See any bebefits to it?

I haven't had a landline for over ten years. I haven't been window cleaning very long but I seem to have done alright without a landline so far.

You can get a landline number and divert to mobile costs around £20 a month and no one knows either. Good for businesses looks better I think.

I also found with a landline and mobile number available; they always call the landline.

People seem to think you are more professional with a landline.

I've always had a landline which is my office number also give my mobile.

You are right as many business only have mobile numbers. I do t think it makes that much difference these days IMO

I use my mobile exclusively but would like a landline. I don't have one as I would also need a person on the end of it.

Some people still do prefer landline numbers, so anything that stops a potential new customer contacting me isn't good.

Were I am, mobile signal is rubbish. Half the time, I don't have a signal :-(

I hate my mobile ringing whilst am working and rarely answer it. I do find that most calls are to the landline though.

i live at home with my parents and put the landline number on all my advertising- sends them mad random people ringing the house older people love you being local to them it is sometimes the difference between them contacting you or not imo-

Landlines been dead here for years no one have it, a mobile number is just fine can answer calls on thw road. Dont see hiw a firm is more pro because of a landline.

It is not the professionalism that is in question it is some older 'British' customers perception of professionalism due to lack of a 'fixed' line.

They believe with a landline you are trackable and not some cowboy that will dissapear with their money.

Ok you have a different culture, over here we have business registation numbers instead that identify the business owner adress and so fort, much like a personal healthcare number just for companys, thats why a number is ireallywant. If thats no where to be found (the reg. No.) then you would think cowboy

All legit companys have it here, and if yiu have a van without vat (means you cant drive it privately) the reg. No. Must be on the side of van along with business name.

Btw all companys here no matter what you earn has to put vat on the bills.
