So first time today I used my six 35 at full extention, reaching over an extention. Gardiner sill brush on end felt like a breeze block. Found it realy hard to control with accuracy. Decide there and then I won't take on any job that requires a longer pole. Does it get easier with practice? those of you that use longer poles does it get more difficult to control?. Have heard that poles go up to 70 feet. I would be a danger to everyone around, everything around and myself I recon.

Dont give up on your first outing mate, it does get much easier with practice and your level of control will improve, although when a very strong gust of wind hits I find myself holding on pretty hard!

try control bars from gardiners, for working at height, thats assuming you use there poles, excellent

Struggled with my 25 today over conservatory .

Not the weight or up and down motion but the side to side on the top of the widow and sill.

I'm sure I will get better

Don't worry about it fella - like with most things it just takes time to improve technique & build up confidence /emoticons/smile.png

Don't rinse off the glass if you've got a 35' pole extended over an extension. Was there no other way of getting to the window like a walkable roof?

Get rid of the sill brush and use an extreme at that height and angle.

I have a stiff extreme on my SLX40. It also takes strength to control and definitely do not work when the wind is gusty or blowing.

I do skylights etc with a 30 foot fibreglass pole

That is not fun

Get to the gym lol

If your pole isn't fully extended on EVERY section to reach, try extending the sections in slightly shorter lengths. This will make the pole more rigid and less whippy when leaning over extentions

Thanks for all the replys. Still not aiming to buy longer pole any time soon. Hope it gets easier as time goes on an I get more experience. Started using 35 ft instead of fully extending 22 ft. Had mutch better day. Wonder if all poles are stupidly wipy and hard to use at full extention. As First two sections are obviously thinner so maximum bend. Reached over conservatorys today using thicker sections of 35ft so mutch easier to control. Mm I wonder got just the one job requires the fully extended 35 ft if I pick up more work at that hight what length pole would I need, in order to miss out minimum first two sections of pole?

If you're using it as an everyday pole and don't require all sections on the pole then strip it down to a 22ft and buy an end cap for that section that's what i used to do no point chewing on all day .
