LEAVE EM

I wouldn't txt the second one back unless the reason was they can't afford it this time. Txt custie last night to unlock back gate for this morning he says yeh no problem turn up, gate unbolted but still locked. Spikes and gripper all over gate not happy. texting only good if you can follow through next day.

i dont see the big issue here, i offer a text/phone service to my customers so they can get a text or a call the day before ig they like, mostly used for access problems or arranging if inside is due. I cant think of a time where i have them say leave it, and if it happened i dont really do other then say "ok" and do them next time or 4 weeks later.Besides texting i knock the door before cleaning and i have never been sent away, i think some of you worry a heck of lot to much.
Exactly - at the end of the day it's there house and there money

Be professional

People seem to take it personally like they are being rejected !

Business is business

The reason I text the few that I text is for access to the back, not to give them the opportunity to cancel. If they didn't have a locked gate I would just turn up and start!

Not really I have to plan my work every day so it's not ok to let them mess you they get one chance from me.

I never knock. Just turn up and start. We have a verbal contract to clean em 4 or 8 weekly or whatever it is and that's wot I do
Couldn't agree more. I tell customers the week I will be back in their village. Always make a point of saying on first meeting that the rounds can run late due to weather. Turn up and crack on bill through the door on to the next one. Works with 99%. Those who request calls get call Friday before to say what day is best for them. Long as the village is done the week I won't it done, all is well. Someone won'ts to miss OK no problem. On to the next. Or Finnish 15_20 minutes early.

I had a potential customer message me through pages manager on Facebook last week, she was asking for a quote on an apartment her and husband own overlooking a swanky marina. The windows are floor to ceiling and there are 10 of them + a high level window which needed a ladder, she wanted them cleaned inside and out.....no problem, so i give her price which she accepted. She then asked for a rough price on her 2 storey house 20 minutes away from where the apartment is, again for a clean inside and out for a big house. I give her approx price and she said ok we'll probably go with that and can you do apartment next Thursday (yesterday), I said yes and booked her in. Wednesday (two days ago) comes and she texts me to say I can't come on the Thursday as she has got a physio appointment that she completely forgot about. Also on the text she asked me to price the 12 balcony glass panels, I gave her a price and next Wednesday was the new date for me to go. This morning I get a new text from her saying can I drop the price by $50 as she had misread the text I sent giving her the price yesterday. She said the price has shot up from the original. I replied and said no sorry i can't drop the price, it has shot up as you have now more than doubled the amount of work by adding the balcony glass fencing and also you cancelled on me yesterday so I lost money then. She said ok we might get back to you. All this from a couple who own an apartment looking out onto a swanky marina and own a big two storey further down the road. I feel like saying all sorts of **** to these people. Like me and my mate said who is a window cleaner on the other side of the country in Sydney, the rich are the worst.

I don't do a lot of very large houses but I think you might be right, I have one that should be £80, I did the first clean/builders clean inside and out back in November, she agreed a twelve week clean, I text her to arrange the maintenance clean and she is blanking me...similar thing with the house overlooking the lake...I did a first clean yesterday on a place that's going to be £40, Porsche 911 and two Mercs on the drive, two and a half hours work on the first clean, no offer of a cup of tea, no smiles or chat and just a general sulky attitude. They paid up ok so no real problems, I'm just used to happy, friendly customers that I can get on with...I guess the cause of the aggravation with the apparently wealthy customers is they didn't consider when they bought their £1mill house that their windows would take all day to clean and didn't realise windies can earn £200+ per day.

I had 3 can you leave it's other day all new customers that I had only cleaned once. One was just going in the shower she said so obviously that effects things another hadNT left money out where she said she would after a text. And another said oh Yeh I want them cleaning regular just not today. I will give them one last chance next time if they still don't WaNT them doing I'll say ok I will remove you from the round thanks

I think some of these things must be fated (for me anyway)...the customers that I'm undercharging or are the most awkward to clean seem to be the ones that want to mess around skipping cleans thereby giving me the perfect opportunity to sack them off.

had one this week.got all the gear out, told my op"give a courtesy knock on the door"(to get gate open)he came back and told me NOT TODAY NO THANKS.it made my blood boil-(I usually deal with his wife, not this prat)so I knocked the door again.we are here to clean your windows as arranged.smirk on his face NOT TODAY-you can clean them next month.unforunately for you we don't do return calls, can you let your wife know she no longer has a window cleaner.have a nice day.what a knobbler.some people seem to get a kick out messing you around on a regular basis
