She was a new customer call up from last month.

I text her the day before: 'Oh no not tomorrow I want to be home the first time so can you do it Tuesday instead'

I agree and go to the trouble of explaining that this is the only time I can make an exception as customers are booked on certain days for certain areas and how it's a regular monthly service etc etc. She agrees and says 'I understand'

I text her last night :- you can read the rest.

Well, hope I was polite enough!

What does amaze me is how some on the FaceBook window cleaners groups talk to their customers, if you spoke to someone like that in the street you should not be surprised when they nut you! Yet these people still have customers! Incredible.

I know its popular on here for getting work, but i avoid facebook an similar sites now. I find it puts too much power in the hand of the customer and they can hold you under the thumb with the possibility of a bad review. I have one example in particular that i picked up and i have bent over backwqrds to impress her since day one, and it has forced me to put up with a lot more then i normally would in a bid to get a good review off her as shes a regular on the forum i got her from. never again for me.

i don't believe them green, i think its fb bragging & the worst on fb would probably die of fright if someone squared up to them

Any screenshots of examples, just for poops n giggles?

I sometimes get tempted to give a sarcastic reply to customers that mess me around but it's not worth it.

All it takes is that customer to screenshot it and start posting it on Facebook or the Facebook selling groups.

A couple of days ago a guy posted on all the local Facebook groups a screenshot of a conversation he'd had with a local fencing company. The bloke had asked for a quote, thought it was too high and replied that he'd decided it would be cheaper to buy the stuff and do it himself. The fencing company's reply was "I suggest you do that then. We're not a charity".

Totally unprofessional and potentially damaging to his business.

the fencer will actually benefit there, wasters will get the message

not too long ago on facebook was a local thread about bad parking and a foto of a badly parked car . i commented "was it a wawg, theyr always doin that ?

this brought a flurry of responses "he will take that down ,he obviously doesnt realize the effect itll have on him"

i didnt take it down and this wrongfooted the holy-joes as they didnt know what to do next

i WANT to have an image of being a bit pig headed to ward off holy joes from my round

the thing about fb is they will slag off a lad for not wearing a uniform or going on a roof etc for being unprofesional but think its ok to eff n blind all over the spot at people

This was my tex to a customer who said leave it this time.

I'm sorry Diane but you will now come off my rota. I quoted you £10 every 2 months & not 4 which is how it's been for a while. I'm sure you understand that after 4 months Windows are filthy & obviously you would expect the same quality clean for the money. I'm sure you can understand I need regulars to run this business & not people who only want it done when they want. Thank you for your custom over the years & all the best.

Paul
