/emoticons/sad.png Not happy . I did a fsg yesterday . £70 job . Anyway all the back came up great and half the front . But they have a balcolny on the front . I left it till last . Cos it looks the easiest . Cos I can climb over and just use the pointer , it's a length about 3 metres . Now the fascia looks exactly the same as the rest . A lot of tiger stripes . But the sponges etc cleaned the rest lovely . But this stuff won't budge . I used everything , spent half hour on it , and it didn't look any better . It was as if the plastic had either faded or worn away ? . The owner couldn't understand why I got the rest clean , and not that stretch . I couldn't either . I would love to go back and get it right , has anyone come across this before or got any suggestions . Cheers

Normally, I can get those stripes off with PVC cream cleaner when nothing else works, and have done loads of fascia cleans . But, I have had one house that also had a stretch where it simply wouldn't come off. I tried a variety of products that usually work. I also gave money off on that one. And hope not to run into that again. It's so hard to walk away from a bad job, even if you did all you can.

Hi Paul which PVC cleaner do you use . Sounds like you've got more experience with this . I felt a bit of an idiot really ' telling the custy they would look nearly new . I always achieve that , it's bugging me more than owt . Plus I know the neighbours were taking an interest .

Not sure I would have knocked money off that. Pvc degrades over time, you were just there to get the dirt off, which i assume you did, not restore the plastic. It has probably been neglected for a long time to be like that so don't feel bad as you did all you could do. The only other suggestion i would have is to use bleach, but then we are talking restoration which woupd double or triple the price imo.

To right i go clean and I tell them before there might be dark marks on the parts were they've joined PVC gutters and on the connections of downs pouts

As mentioned above, I always state that the gutters are pretty bad and there may well be some permanent staining that can't be removed. Then if it comes up like new I am brilliant, if not then I was spot on with my warning.

Yeh I think the last few comments are spot on . In future I will change my sales pitch . To include there could be some degrading of the gutter which may not come clean . Well live and learn cost me half hour labour . Lost me £20

Custys leave it for years then expect them to come out all shiny and brand new ,I always say before hand I can only do my best .

By your price it sounds like you were only cleaning them, anything stained on that does not come off with a wash and a bit of degreaser is to me classed as restoration and charged higher. Just ensure you tell the custy this when quoting up, some stains won't come off older Upvc, looks naff i know but thats just how some go.

some times it just wont come bk to new i just tell them ive done every thing i can but some stains wont come off its just one of them things ide never knock money off tho as ive still cleaned it
