OK YOU VAN MOUNT GUYS WIN!!

Your powered reel is fast Neil

I still reckon you can be faster round here with backpack and 20m of hose with no reel

It's a case of deciding whether to be quicker or not lifting stuff all day

I am happy to lug a backpack about but a van mount would be good for the work i do in old Knebworth and aston as all big detached jobbies

I'm a plodder mate. I hate rushing around and I hate lugging the backpack in and out the van all day so I think I'll get on well with the van mount. The trolley will still see plenty of use. You know what it's like round here, especially st nicks, pin green etc.

I've never used a powered reel before but it was much faster than I expected it to be.

Why keep filling a backpack up.

Easy way is to either buy a box with pump battery ect in it or buy a pump battery & on & off switch. Put into a box or tool box or whatever. Fix your hose to one side of pump & drop that in a 25 lyre can ( can fit a small filter if want on end of hose) Hose fitted other side of pump with hozelock male or female fitting. Connect 30-35m of hose to it & turn it on & walk round hose.

Box don't need to leave the van/car

When 25L can runs down drop it in another.

Fit a tap on the hose to turn it on & off.

I do it both ways @Posh

I use my trolley and when i can i use my reel and leave the trolley in the motor

Put hose back on the reel now but only 60m this time as i reckon it will be less stress on the pump

Exactly @daveyboy

Sod lugging a backpack round when I can just take a hose round.

I also when reeling in I walk towards the hose so not reeling it in over a load of shite & it don't snag on everything.

Do you mean 60ft mate

60m is about 200ft ???

It's only on when you need more then 20litres that a van is quicker. If you move from job to job then surely there's nothing in it?

If your round consist of cleaning one house at a time then moving your van ( not an established round) then you may have a point. But any decent round with clustered work, a van mount will always be king.

I've been in the game over quarter of a century mate

Admittedly i moved and started over but I have days where I don't move and days when I do the villages and move between each job

All about opinions, that's why this forum is so interesting. Just, I.m.o, a van mount is king.

When I work with Damo i use the best van mount i have ever seen

When I work on my own in use my diy trolley and 60m hose reel when i can

Both have their good points and both have their problems

I couldn't use a van mount exclusively round here as so many houses are in terraces which need you to walk up a few houses then go round and then down the alley to the back

Too much aggro with a van so the trolley or backpack takes over

I could work 100% backpack round here but not anywhere near 100% van mount

Why? Just grab the hose and walk

There are a couple of roads of over 400 houses each round here where you can only access the backs of houses and then you have to start at the end of the road and walk round all the fronts

No way to use a mounted system round that area at all

All these side turnings lead to back gardenView attachment 6922 s which is what everyone uses as access

Front doors only used by the postman

No way possible for a van mount
