question from a newbie what do customers prefer traditional or pure water spoke to a friend non windie and said his window cleaner tells him that is customers prefer the traditional windie rather than the wfp.
Thanks for the welcome, what you are saying makes complete sense, I guess with some people mindset is difficult to change, only losing 4 customers is prove of the pudding.
Adam I know where you are coming from and I'm going to be looking at both trad and wfp when we start up new round, just trying to gauge what the average customers preference would be, I have a lot to learn that's for sure lol
do you tell a plumber or a car mechanic,i prefer you do it this way!!!no because they would tell you to do one.the same with running a window cleaning business, your the boss, you dictate the rules, unless its the oldies of course
The thing is my son and good friend both have past experience with traditional ( I have zero experience) they are both going teach me traditional but none of us as any xperince with WFP would love to get some experience with someone local that is WFP savvy and teach me the ropes that way all areas are covered.
the thing is these days NOT YOU a lot of people seem to think!! umm lets start window cleaning.when I changed over to wfp,i spent months and months looking at vids, forums etc, buying gear -practicing and making lots of mistakes(doing my homework as it where).but hey that's the only way you learn.theres no quick fix
I learnt a hell of a lot from the man they call WAGGA in the early days on you tube.a source of fantastic info for both trad and wfp.if you want to learn quickly I suggest you have a look,it will take you weeks too watch them all.
most people have grown up aware of only trad so that's what they look for but in this day n age there are so many advances the majority of people will accept anything new if it works & wfp does
which makes me wonder in 20 years there will be people who have never had a trad cleaner or even seen one maybe
Thanks fellas some good points for me to think about, thinking about getting a pure freedom trolley set up don't know what pole or brush/brushes any thoughts opinions on these please.
Hi Den and all the best with your business. I do a mix of trad and wfp, I love not having to go up/down ladder all day, as wfp any top windows. However I dont trust wfp at times, as you have to leave windows wet and you cant see the after effects, unless you are cleaning insides as well, I done a first clean the other day on old style house with tall windows, used three times the amount of pure water, went over windows several times to ensure a good clean, but one window, old style wooden framed window had a lovely long dried in drip on one of the four panes, looked shocking in the sun, so had to get the gear out again and do it again:gush:. Funny thing is, was when I was cleaning that house the next door neighbour said she wants windows cleaned, but doesnt really trust the wfp, as her windows were all drip stains from wfp from previous person. These are windows that havent been cleaned regularly and are a mix of old style and double glazed windows. Once up to standard then its usually plain sailing. So what I'm trying to say is, there are plus and minuses with both styles, I have wrist and ankle inury from falling of ladder that bothers me from one fall. WFP is the way to go and when you get the windows to a good standard then its plain sailing. I personally feel you need both styles, as some windows arent worth getting wfp out for. I had a trad window cleaner do my windows, there was streaks and big podgy finger marks around the seals where they used a wet rag to detail, so again its pluses and minuses and getting skilled at what we do.
Thanks for replying, getting a good idea of what to expect in theory because of circumstances can't start canvassing for new round for approximate another 10 weeks but the good thing is plently of time to start acquiring equipment flyers, biz cards etc.
