Detailing cloths

I did a thread about this in the past

I think the wilko ones are the best about for the money

And 60x80cm is a good size

I've got a few different ones and the Wilko ones Daveyboy recommends are about the best. Got some waffle ones which are great but click and pull on brickwork. I'll stick with the wilko ones from now on with 40cm exels for sill cloths.

My sill cloths are cheap microfibres from asda motoring section

1 kilo of cloths for 7 quid

Counted them and there were 35 cloths in there i think from memory

No good for detailing but perfect for sills and dog poo on hose etc

I've got a bunch of little Sabco household microfiber cloths (30cmx30cm) and since they just spew dusty fibres, I have them relegated to non-glass uses like frames and sills too.

I've got a few of the recycled surgical towels and they're alright, but the only cloth I'll touch the glass with are the Vileda ActiFibres. I've 8 or 9 of these and although they dry as stiff as cardboard, they never leave a smear or streak and never lose any fibres.

They're only small cloths - 30x30cm - but they suck-up liquid beautifully and even once they're wet they still don't streak at all.

On the other hand, I've got a Vileda synthetic chamois - sold as a 'Glass Cloth' that sucks balls so much I've never bothered to take it with me.

I wouldn't mind getting a proper genuine-leather chamois sometime, but when it comes down to a choice between one chamois for $20 or 10 Vileda Actifibre cloths I'll take the latter.

Tried microfibres...went back to grade A scrim.
The moment I tried microfibre i never used scrim again

Each to their own

The wilkos ones are good enough for me

They don't get much use and 1 would do a whole days tradding for me

same ,I swore blind for years scrim were better went on microfibers last years ,miles better

Right, ill be going wilkos tomorrow then! My scrims were given to me, got 10 and a few of them are abit tattered.

The wilko ones are usually with the cleaning stuff like washing up liquid and dustpan and brush not with the stuff like tools and decorating etc where you find a lot of other cloths
