Do you honestly think there is enough money in it

So long as the bloke is working for you, you'll do OK. But if it's a 50/50 setup then it's probably not worth the agro.

I work with the trouble so we get to keep the money no outsiders to pay.
No wonder you're down in the dumps all the time, you've got your Mrs in your ear all day. /emoticons/biggrin.png

Yes if you have a compact, busy round. I have my mates son with me at the moment, it lightens the load, but boy, does he get on my tits sometimes!

Ask those Indian immigrant workers doing the bank on contract other day: barely 10 minutes - one doing the inside, one out - and the ***** were gone, while I was still doin the outside!

Been thinking about getting the mrs doing a couple of days a week with me,not shore as iv been working on my own apart from my large commercial jobs for 14 years! How's it working out for you?

It all depends on what the person is like who is working for you.

I have had people who are lazy, late, poor quality of work etc.if they can't clean a window you'll have to teach them and check there work costing you time which is money.

I have now have found some one I give a bit of work to who is reliable and his work is good.He helps save me time ,makes me money and helps me get through an impossible work load but I do pay him well for it.

I'm looking into taking somebody on in the very nr future, hopefully the start of some future growth... While I can cope currently with the work I have built up so far, I have stopped advertising in the gold mine I was using as it was going mental and I was not wanting to get bombared with loads of firsts and working 7 days to stay ahead, my thoughts are get the right person onboard while I have time to train him/her to my standards, get them spot on in every aspect of the trade and also happy in the job, then step it up a level and start filling the days up more and more, theres plenty of work out there, even if you can cope on what you have that day i think it would be a advantage to get your staff member to knock a few doors around the street your in or post a few leaflets, drop him/her off to canvass new areas etc, then theres washing my van a couple of times a week, tidying kit etc etc, loads to go at, and I think it's a great job for the right person, I just gotta choose the right one which might take a while.

I am just about busy enough for solid work monday -thursday every week

I deliberately am not filling fridays

I like the setup i have now and i like using fridays to either take it easy with conny roof jobs etc or work with Damo as it is nice to work with someone else to break the monotony up

If i get any more work i will have to take someone on to do it part time as i am not going to start a 5 day week every week on my round

Would you share this with me, im 19 and starting up and trying to get work. Would take any advice possible

My wife works with me one or two days a week, but sometimes something comes up and she cant get out, so it would be good to have someone help me out now and then, I have been asking some people, but its a bit of a pest in scotland, when you have to pay for a license £150, where I work for 3 years, then add insurance, not very motivating for someone to help out.

Licence in my area is £277 /emoticons/sad.png

I've stopped employing now because it's ridiculous to have to pay that every time you take someone new on.
