What van are you using?

I currently use a Transit but need to get a second van. Must hold a 400 ltr tank and the normal everyday kit. Budget £5000 - £6000 plus the dreaded vat.

My brother spent today viewing larger vans and most are high mileage or knocked about.

Any one got any suggestions on van size, we are considering something smaller now in a bid to get something decent?

i use a berlingo first, its got a 750 payload, so im near the limit with 2 of us & a full 400 tank & my gear but it pulls up hill no problem & not bad on juice, i think i'm gonna go bigger next year cos i need a bigger tank now, but its been a top van

Transit connect T230 LWB semi high top

Citroen dispatch 2.0HDI engine

Citroen Berlingo enterprise

Fiat doblo

The Caddy looks to be a tidy van. Can you get poles into them without too much trouble?
No poles, but I did give a lift to a Lithuanian training buddy the other day, so close enough I suppose.

I've got the Maxi and I'm amazed at the space it has in the back. How long are the poles you're carrying? I'll measure the back of it if you like.

I got a LWB transit connect and I love it. Had a Berlingo 2.0 hdi previously, always felt like it was going to fall apart (but never did).

My longest pole is a SLX-35 which if memory serves is about 6' closed. If you get the chance to have a measure I'd be grateful Mr T. Is the maxi a LWB Caddy?

My T230 is swb high roof, half bulkhead poles fit in no problem resting on the parcel shelf above your head. A swb gives you that little axtra for parking on busy streets. Just over 900kg payload.
Very good to know. There seems to be more smaller vans available than larger ones. So this may well be the way forward.

It's longer and taller. Just been out there to look and it's about 7.5 feet towards the top where most people store their brushes. Obviously if you go diagonal you can get even more space.

Are those combos 1.3 cdti ? What warranty do they come with new ?
Mine is 1.3 cdti sportive they also do a 1.7 but the 1.3 is most common.

4 years warranty or 60k I think.

To be honest their ok and it does what I need but they are just a rebadged fiat doblo.

You would probly pick the doblo up cheaper.
