So you are already more or less double their prices and are they snapping your hands off at that ?

If so try hiking yout current price buy a pound and if it's still the same response then do the same again until you stop picking up a good rate of customers.

Again this is just my opinion but surely it's worth trying if everyone is snapping your hand off at the current rate

Well I've been and quoted a job in my area tonight the going rate is between £5 and £10

£10 being big houses the house I priced up was a 4 bed detached house and I got it for £18 every 4 weeks and on top will be wanting me to price up all the gutters cleaning out and all the soffit and fascias cleaning. And pressure washing all his paths and drive

Good plan! Not snapping my hands off,I've been turned down a few times based on price alone. It's viewed as fairly dear but I'll try that, just don't want to risk the round being too spread out too.

There is no proper territory here, windys turning up few times and then disappearing, bad quality work..few issues really.

Will add a pound and assess the reaction aye Alex.

That's good going but how many houses close by will you get at that price if so far above average price of area? That's my concern here.

That's good mate, I've a few 10 pound houses, one 15,one 20 and few 8 pound ones. These are my bigger ones too

My mentioned prices are general 6 window houses, but I'm taking on board what you guys are saying and have been for months before I even posted to be honest

Just see what happens mate I had someone get in touch for a quote he lives in a flat with 4 windows, I thought to my self I don't really want it coz wouldn't be worth me going and doing them so I quoted him £10 he said bloody yes and also got the person who lives below him for £10 aswell, I'm going to see if I can gat anyone else in that flat when I go do the first cleans lol

Haha that's quite inspiring! Those that get in touch are now officially getting hit for a lot more too! I'll report back with my door chapping price hike findings soon too!lol

Enjoying the ride!

Well tonight my mum told me not to operate near where she teaches cos the kids might slag her about having a son who's a windy. Nice. Ever get the feeling no one believes in you, but yourself?lol
Canvassing continues tomorrow regardless! Going to try tighten up a few more areas this week. Only ten cleans on this week 4 cycle, and hope to get another 20 plus punters this week.

Tonight has also brought two more new jobs, one random one at 7 and one at 6.50. The 7 pound one is village work and there's supposedly no windy there so that whole village is getting chapped this week.
drop the 50 pences square them in up in future

So went canvassing tonight for an hour, listened to what you guys have said and raised prices (carefully though)

Two eight pound ones tonight, and an eight pound Facebook one earlier. All four weekly cleans.

There was also a few leads tonight, people who are not happy with current windy but have to speak to decision maker before switching etc, so we'll see!

This estate I've targeted has at least a thousand houses, I've maybe chapped 150 tonight so will continue the area throughout week ahead.

Been out again tonight, picking up prices again. Two small houses got at 7 pound, two previously seven pound priced houses got for 9, a ten pound house (4 weekly) and an 8 weekly 8 pound one.

Someone tried to bargain me down to 6 quid for the 9 pound one actually, still agreed to 9 after I wouldn't budge. So glad I didn't!

And a 10 pound Facebook one there just now, the person said they searched for window cleaners on fb (didn't even know that was possible)

Think my two week advertising ban on those buy and sell sites ends tonight too haha. I'm going to exploit that, and up the prices for all those pming me too!

Had an idea there, was going to start checking on all local estate agent sites for houses that they advertise (that say 'now sold') and was gona chap the doors of said houses, figure the take up of window cleaners to new occupied houses may be much higher than average door chapping Thoughts?

I used to have a folder with 'for sale', 'sold' and 'canvassed' columns. I would write the house address in the left column. I put a tick next to each column when each phase had been reached.

That's a great idea mate! It's just when u get customers that have just moved in to new houses (and subsequently had no idea of where to get local window cleaners) that ya realise the value of such tools.

I'm going to do what you had going on there, marking down as I canvas and also checking local estate agents-sold houses.

i dont get how anyone can charge 3.50 anywhere in the country, surely thats too low to live off
20 houses a day for 70 quid!
For arguments sake

70 quid/ 5 days - 350 x 4 weeks - 1400 x 12 months - £16800.

You can live off that.

Not that you want to

Well tonights canvassing brought nothing, infact that's the first time I've came away with zero apart from leads. So, can't grumble!

Adding up my money there,I'm at 950 every four weeks now. Long way to go still.

Car is advertised, and I'll get a van as soon as it's gone. 30 foot ladders now on way, unger 30 foot telescopic pole on way, vice versas on way (check!). Hopefully start getting someone on board to help with work with me soon as..

Work in social care, and the decision to stop juggling this and eventually go at it full-time will come at some point this summer hopefully.
