Electric reel, magic.

A couple of years ago Bob plum bought the good sections of an extreme pole that I had altered. (I'm about to revisit this)

On collection I looked at his van and he was raving about the electric add on to his reel. I took the hiss.

When they were on offer at £199. I had one. A little difficult to set straight but now it is, it's fabulous. I wish I had got it sooner.

If your thinking of one, got too much work, have knackered joints or are just old, get one.

You have it on a Clover reel? The water works one, power up??
Yes. I damaged the plastic bushes when I assembled it but had those replaced.

Really nice to power in.

That' why I'm backpack can't be doing with all that winding with space at a premium next spring when I get my bigger van I might have a leccy reel, tank more poles and hot water that's if I'm a millionaire window cleaner by then?

Can't g

Yes but shed loads of 6mm.
I have the pro reel and it is a dream to use. Saves time and effort.

I don't understand those who choose to manual wind. /emoticons/smile.png)
I just can't get on with 6mm. Not enough water! We use maximum flow etc from the 100psi. We produce more water than the 4 vans can use a day so no issue

i have both versions of the power up and much prefer the clover reel version if i'm honest, the motor on that one has much more torque and 100m of hose isn't an issue but i'm running one with 75m of 8mm on the pro reel and only on a couple of jobs the hose lenght causes some carefull planning,if anyone is planning to upgrade your clover reel you'd need to do a few mods to get the benifit-especialy if you use hot waterView attachment 7402

on the top of the larger sprocket is a 15mm pipe clip, pop this on to adjust the larger sprocket so it runs true, then loosen the bolts to the motor and spin the reel a bit-this should align the motor to the sprocket, from then on its small adjustments to make it perfect.

the spider (bit in the middle)is pop rivetted to make the whole reel bear the centrifugal force when you wind it all in and is a must if you use hot water, bubble wrap is there to protect the spindle from freezing in winter, plastic collars have holes drilled in them so i can squirt a bit of wd40 onto the spindle, the most overlooked item on these is the chain, keep it lubed up or it'll stretch and/or the links seize up,also depending on the direction of travel the split link may have to be reversed(it could well fly off and the the chain comes off etc ruining your whole day)all in all some small mods but the benifits are impressive

I used threaded bar instead of using pops.

What are you lubeing your chain with.

Since getting tank put in, certainly reeling out and in more, than taking trolley out of van, Ive got my reel dangling from roof with straps, great not bending down, but certainly know that the electric version would save a bit of energy and effort.

Surely one could be made with a cordless drill. Bit ghetto you may say, but you could take the drill apart. box it in and put the switch on the outside. Might have a look see if it's got the torque

I have a power UP HD at the moment that I am trying. It is good. Had some niggles but I am ironing them out soon.

Yes I have a battery per elec reel.

I am finally having my diesel hot add on to the system so that that will be 4 leisure batteries In my van and 3 that come with it lol

Mine issues are roller related.

As my hose goes through rollers I have some tension built in. However it's easy to get carried away and unravel loads. That's only an issues maybe once or twice a week.

My issue is self spooling. But today I managed to get it to spool with the doors shut. There is the chance I can clean houses without ever opening the rear doors again. Maybe.
