As above really,

Bought a selection of things that may help my business. This is one of them!

Also getting into waterfed and have 30 foot ladders, so won't rely on this pole.

But yeah, I'm worried that after wiping down windows with the blade there may be water lines left?

Is there any unger ending I can clip on for detailing or any tips worth noting from current users of this pole?

Just wrap a scrim around the end of the pole. If you want you can use a bungee or a pony clamp to keep it in place. Its far from ideal though.

Unger FIXI-Clamp

It depends how high you go with it

Just over bushes on ground floor etc or first floor i would use a swivel squeegee like wagtail or swiveloc and fan to avoid needing to detail

A pony clamp !! What the hell is that

Every days a school day!

I'm wanting to use it for first and possibly even second floor work guys. Whatever I put on the ends going to need that unger clip system the pole also uses.

Unger do a fixi clamp for 20 odd and you can fold your cloth and clamp it so its easier for edges. Bit much for a clamp attachment though.

Thanks guys, will probably get that end for it. Had it fully extended today, takes some control at full length and not really happy at results.

Guess I'll get better with it in time.

I know 5 meter Harris pole isn't 30 feet but I used pull down stokes with my squeegee then detail after with microfibres with the same pole on my own windows then went upstairs and checked from inside and was very happy with the results have gone rounds twice now each time I have been happy and that's the first time I have ever used a pole because I'm a newbie.

That's about the length of this thing when it's folded in half. Found it reasonable at that length (15 feet) yeah, but at 30 foot there is a lack of pressure you can apply on the window and the pole has some flex on it..lack of real scrubbing power.

I'll take what your saying bud,and do some practicing. Just so happened I got caught out today and had to try it out..

its THE BEAST ! but nontheless a useful tool, use on awkward 3storey windows . it takes practice ,like everything!

one little known fact is that if u pull out the first 2 sections ,these 2 on their ownsome are adequate for many 1st floor windows-and incredibly light

Yeah can imagine it would be out of view for me with I eyesight lol to be honest sitting thinking now again about a 30ft pole would be very difficult to handle, I'm gonna keeping practicing on my own Windows a bit more myself.

Good luck hope you master it.

Den.

Cheers boarcity, think I recall reading a thread where u said your guys avoid this lol unless it's just for using the sections you'd just mentioned. Maybe I'm wrong?

I'll try those sections, was really thinking it'll be useful at folded length for Windows above porches and such like. Fully extended seems overkill for most (but not all) things.

Cheers den,how long you been started? U said your a newbie. I'm just starting out too. Think you have a plan there, wish I'd got used to pole work maybe even before getting ladders to be honest..Maybe your using ladders too?

Hello Chris

I'm so new I don't have any customers yet seriously lol my son will back in the country in six weeks times, hes done window cleaning before, where I havnt only just been practicing at home we are going in together I'm in the process on getting all the equipment got quite a bit already convertered the Harris pole yesterday with the Unger angle adapter and optiloc cone within the next couple of weeks hope to have most if not all equipment, shirts, flyer, cards etc printed up and new van, my son-in-law is a sign writer and will do the signage for me. I will start canvassing around 5 weeks time just be he's due back home.

Den.

Your doing a better and more methodical start then I did! Are you going Trad or waterfed?

It'll no doubt be worth a bucket of gold, having someone on board with experience. Sign writing will be good, reckon people will respond well to that professional set up ☺

I got a few vice versas delivered yesterday, the unger ones that clip onto their poles. Found them to be time saving on most windows, but quite cumbersome.

Only bought as my parents windy had a heart attack, now no longer uses ladders. He uses (and recommended a pole) a similar length pole to yours for all his round, with a vice versa on the end.

Think he said he gets an occasional water line at the base of upstairs windows, where he's pulling down to. Maybe a clearance/angle issue.

Gonna go trad as a rule, but where we live there is a lot of expensive properties with hard to reach window so I think a backpack might be in order for the odd job, I'm 18st and not a natural on the ladders whereas my son is fit as butchers dog and been a hod carriers for years and a real natural on the ladders, and in all honestly that's the main reason why I'm waiting for him to return home and not starting up before.

Den.

Yeah that'll give you plenty confidence to get going mate. Bought the unger backpack starter kit from window cleaning warehouse a few weeks ago, not really put the practice in however!

Can only vouch for that kit, but it's a good kit but the brush head seemed quite large and soft compared to the ones at daqua I seen.

My squeegee is a Unger and looked at the visa versa, but I'm going to order the moerman combinator instead watch all the videos on YouTube and looks good especially with the modifications member on here pickingpaul as made to his, also going to order a liquidator beacause I'm new May as well learn with one of them especially if it helps with zero detailing or near enough, I just need to,practise more lol.

Den.

I'm making a note right now of that lol will look into learning that also, defo best to learn these things early on.

Good luck in starting out mate ☺
