paying for equipment by invoice

One of my friends is looking at starting up as a window cleaner and has somehow arranged funding through the job centre, however they can only pay out by invoice, once equipment has been delivered!! Does anyone know if any companies do this or is it a case of no one will? I thought I'd ask here for him as he stressing about it, and they want to know by Monday!

I had a free grant off the council/princes trust when i started back up

It was a scheme they were doing

Had the same thing...had to buy the stuff..give them the invoice and they credited it straight back into my bank

Suppose not so easy if you're unemployed and wanting to start up

The 1 good thing about it (not that i would ever dream of doing it:whistle::whistle:) is to send them copies of receipts / invoices so you can keep the originals to claim replacements etc if faulty or broken and then use the originals when you do your tax return even though you haven't paid a penny for the equipment

As i said not that have done that honest mr hmrc

Can you not loan him the cash to buy and then he pays back after giving them the invoices?

Every company will do this that you have an account established with.

The issue is as he's just started out he will have no established record with any supplier and therefore no credit.

He's best off to ask mom or granny or someone to pay for him and reimburse them as soon as.

The invoice is to be sent to DWP direct, so they order the equipment, they receive it, pay the invoice and then they give it to my mate. He doesn't handle any money or pay anything out for the equipment. I can't lend him the money as I don't physically have it as had a lot of unexpected bills lately

Cleaning spot will send a itemised bill and most would if it helps. But no one will send the stuff without paying first for a new start lol

Seeing as the dwp is a government outfit the company supplying the stuff will know they will get paid

Hopefully someone will help him
