Flyers returned

Out leafleting for a bit this afternoon, had two people open the door and throw my flyer out. Shouting stop putting shite through my door. Second one I was only half way off her drive. Door opens so I turned around. I don't won't your crappy junk mail she said as she through it at me. I told her it's not junk it's targeted advertising. Don't think she was impressed by the way she slammed the door shut. never had anyone react like that before an two in one day. Has this happened to any one else??

Jesus that's awful. Target a different area. I'm doing great with flyers, about a dozen good jobs from 500! All rural though. Only another 9500 to go......

It's supposed to be one off the best areas of town so was i bit surprised. Picked one new one up already from today's effort lovely young couple so carnt all be care in the community patients lol.

YES it happened to me were this geezer told me to get off his property and shove your leaflet were the sun don't shine.its was a different story though when I saw this retard up our local coop.you all right mate,you remember me?he didn't know what to doanyway on point thats why I state clearly on leaflets what I do window cleaning

you just have to grin and bare it and try not to enagage in a slagging match months ago i bumped in to someone in there drive explained im working in the area today so decided to drop of some flyers and he said no thank you not needed here reluctantly took a flyer...2months later rang me wanted poly card roof cleaned gutters and patio power washed ended up agreeing on £200

Not had that but once I was about to post one in a letterbox when a woman was walking towards the door at the same time. There was 2 doors next to each other. Do t post that at number 26 she shouts. Ok i said and posted one in the other door, only it wasn't the other door it was number 26 oops sorry I said laughing. She looked at me and said I just said don't. ..yes sorry I meant to put it in the other door you don't need a window cleaner do you?. No I don't she said in the most snotty nose in the air way possible. Think I called her s miserable cow or sumthin. Can't stand rude people

Only had one guy who gave me some hassle, I remember clocking him as I turned up in the street, watching me posting the houses before his, it looked like it was his elderly grans house and he was looking after her (prob waiting to cop for the house) as soon as I walked up the drive he came out all big & hard looking saying whats this then PAL, I just smiled and said he you go mate and handed it to him and walked off down the drive, he came walking after me saying here take it back I don't need **** like this here. Took it off him and bit my tounge and just carried on. Got 2 good regulars a few doors down from him out of it so not a wasted trip.

Had an elderly woman open the door and shout "We've got one round here you know!" To which I replied "That's fine - if you're happy your not going to change"

Was subsequently contacted by 4 people in the next street who said their window cleaner was so unreliable they wanted someone new. Now doing all 4.

Don't let a few bad experiences put you off!

This is where i would get into a row as i see red as soon as some numpty starts talking to me like i am beneath them

I have had a couple of nice arguments while door knocking/leafletting

Good fun haha

One who gave me a mouthfull while canvassing before (big no neck bodybuilder who can't put his arms down by his side type)

I deliberately parked across his gated driveway last month as there was no space to do his neighbours house which takes 5 minutes

They never have a car there so i thought sod him I'll only be a few minutes

Just on principle although he could see me cleaning next door he stood by the gate just to have a pop at me when i finished

Told me he had called the police as i was blocking his drive

I said fine I'll wait then as it is only illegal to block a car from exiting the driveway not to block an empty driveway

He tried to carry on so i just told him to jog on and did a bit of admin in the motor before leaving

Some people deserve to have a bit of grief

Especially after the way he talked to me when i knocked to ask if he needed a windy before

Some guy once told me it was illegal leafletting , in DK ,wich it NOT ! Only illegal to canvas private houses . Another few sent it back by mail ... They have too much spare-time these jerks ...

I've always expected to get grief especially when I drop in letter boxes that say 'no junk mail', but I've never had any bother. I'm always prepared to tell them how it is if they do though.

I had this happen to me once last year. I I posted a leaflet through a door which said no leaflets junk mail etc. I gets few doors down and the guy comes out and says don't be posting your shite and go and get a proper job. I said I probably earn more in a day than you earn in a week and my business is growing rapidly and you clearly have no idea what kind of salary window cleaners can earn. He kept shouting abuse as he went back into his house. I gets a call about 3 months later asking can I add them to my round. When I turned up to do the clean it turned out to be the same guy. I never said anything to him nor him to me and I've been cleaning his house ever since and he's actually ok to talk to and a good payer who now pays online on time. When you work for the public you will always come across nut jobs and odd people.
