Hi guys, my names Jimmy and I'mjust starting my new business called gutter solutions in devon. I used the vacuum system to clear the gutters and was wondering if there were any pointers for me! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Jim
We do gutters, its sporadic for us but steady, we also have a gutter hoover though my advice is get a good ladder and if working alone a decent set of ankalads or something similar as well as a good stand off, also get yourself a 5 meter harris pole with a selection of pro gutter tools.
I have found that by the time I have messed about setting hoover up, sorting power etc I could of been up the ladder, cleared the entire length and checked the downpipe and be moving to the next length.
The hoover is really, imo, only of any use on 3 story and up jobs, domestic houses just get up the ladder, also a hoover won't clear a blocked downpipe, you need to get a hose up there and push it down the pipe to clear it, or potentially dismantle it to clear it, you also can't reliably check the downpipe with a hoover as often the blockage is where you can't see it.
Hoovers are good for poor access, high reach etc, but I rarely use mine now, have even considered selling it but know I will get a big job come on the second I do that a hoover would have been perfect for.
