My CLX - 27 is about five years old. I use it for gutter/fasica cleans etc. Yesterday I used to clean the village bus stop and dropped it, damaging Section 4.

If I order a new section 4 from Gardiners will it still fit my old pole?

I asked Gardiners via their website, but their response email made no sense.

Many Thanks

I would buy another pole tbh.

The new section will fit but it will have smart clamps where your current pole has the old clamps. At 5 years old it probably is fairly worn hence my response. I have an old CLX22 that I bought back in 2009. Its not an everyday pole - it has a soft Extreme brush on it so gets taken out with leaded windows. It could do with new clamps, but its not worth the cost of clamps as the pole is very worn.

Sometimes the old garment is fine, but if you need to patch it, the patch causes problems.

The simple answer is yes /emoticons/smile.png

We usually try to make sense /emoticons/smile.png

What exactly did you ask and what exactly was the reply?

Hi Alex and Co,

Will a Section 4 replacement section fit on a CLX-27, that I bought from you almost five years ago?

Kindest Regards

I can see why the Customer Service team replied in the way that they did. Your original question could easily have been read that you bought a section 4, five years ago and you now want to know if it will fit a CLX-27. Their reply was asking if the section 4, they thought you had bought, was for a CLX-27 - this is because the sections for the CLX27 are a unique length, longer than a CLX22 and shorter than an SLX25.

I now have the benefit of knowing that it is the CLX27 that you bought 5 years ago and your question is asking if a section 4 section for a CLX27 will fit it. I can therefore easily answer yes it does /emoticons/smile.png

I am sorry to have caused your staff so much confusion.

Thank you for your response Alex

No need to apologize - no confusion just a simple question to clarify.

They answered as they perhaps read the question. My reply was explaining why they perhaps answered as they did - however I would not say their reply is up to the usual standard that I expect from our Customer Service team. If they had taken the time to read your question carefully the placement of the comma should have given them at least reason to question your question, rather than just assume what you were asking. I will be using your query as a 'Training Exercise' for some of them later this week /emoticons/smile.png

If in doubt as to the answer from the team at any time in the future please just fire back another question to them.
