Bleed valve for hosereel

just wondering if anyone had ever put some sort of bleed valve on the pipe between pump and hose reel to deal with any air locks? I have a lay flat tank so get them every now and again because never remember to turn off tap at the tank when the level is low. Currently I just disconnect the hose lock fitting from the hose reel and wait till there is only water coming out and then reconnect but I am looking to have my next van fit out to have no water spills etc so was wondering if anyone had experimented with a bleed valve next to the hose reel at all? Can't see why it wouldn't work but may not have thought of something?

Why not use clear hose to reel to see water flow to reel then if still air plug pole in to hose and wack pump on full.

I have always struggled to get the water to the end of the pole if there's an air lock with 100m of microbore - I've ordered a t splitter for the hose tell supply and ball valve to bleed it so will report back on how it goes
