View attachment 7667 Just treated myself to this nice offset smoker, plan to do a few mods to it before smoking my first pork butt, anyone else into a bit of smoking? Post your pits if you have one :)

That looks nice, how much mate? I have a good old Weber BBQ, and always Chuck the lid on to get as much smoke as possible. Do you just put wood chips in the bottom bit for smoke?

It looks like my mates one

The fire is in the bottom bit and the indirect heat cooks the meat in the main bit of it's the same

Disappointed to find out this thread isn't about marijuana [emoji6]

I love a bbq

I do whole chicken etc in mine with the charcoal round the edges and meat in the middle

That is the only way to bbq..indirect heat

I grew up in a west indian community and love all that food

Put a whole massive loin of pork that has been marinated 24hrs in my jerk seasoning (no lewd comments please) in the bbq with hickory wood chips or pimento if you can get it but it is hard..i have to get it from my jamaican mate Angus

Paint it with my sticky jerk sauce (i really am setting you lot up for dodgy remarks ain't i?)

Close lid for 2 hrs

Every half hour open and paint more sauce on

Make some rice'n'peas

Job done

That and a few bottles of dragon stout and that's as close as you get to genuine jamaican bbq

I love a roast dinner but once it is warm enough the bbq is on every Sunday until it gets cold enough for roast again

Well I'm off to the rugby club in a mo as there are rumours that they are gonna get the bbq out while the kids are training

Gonna have a few beers anyway as the wife is gonna drive and then have a natter with the other rugby mums

We don't have training this week so the 3rd team are gonna have a beer

Ssshhh don't tell @Damo as i am working with him tomorrow lol

Won't be drinking that much though..the dice and sambuca will be staying behind the bar

It helps that one of our team is also in charge of the clubhouse and bar woohoo

That's bad a** @Trev81 I have been wanting to get a smoker but just a small one so I can smoke the trout after fishing. After looking at yours thinking weather or not we can fit a piglet in it! /emoticons/smile.png)
Its well worth the money, this one was not expensive at all. Around £200 but out the box there not great, but with a few cheap mods there a very good smoker, just in the process of doing the mods over the weekend so I can enjoy some smoking sessions on my week off at the end of this month.

Loads of tips and mod ideas on youtube for em, grab them one why you can if you have a Range store near you, there made in the states, not sure if anywhere else sells them but the make of mine is Char Griller super pro, with the added fire box to turn it into a smoker.

Il post some more pics when its finished

looks a good job would love a back garden so i can do ribs
Get it out on the street, get the neighbours to chip in and get it filled with some ribs and pork butts /emoticons/smile.png
