Ideal Amount Of Customers

Hello,

As I have said before I am insprired by everyone on this site and how well people are doing.

I know Rome wasnt built in a day so I am aware that what I am about to say will take some time to get to, but time is what I have...

Would 600 customers, 20 a day, 100 a week on a 6 week turnaround averaging £12 per house Traditional Cleaning for myself plus 1 other seem achievable?

I am going to be doing this as a serious way of life for me and am very nearly ready to go.

Of course, I know it will take time to get to that stage and along the way will lose customers and gain customers but was just wondering, how many clients do you guys have or are aiming to build up just so I know whether I am thinking in the right direction or living in LALA land.

I just read that Harun got 91 clients in a short time which I think is very very good going.

I have been using every part of this site for ideas from canvassing to Trad cleaning ways to book keeping and eventually will be WFP.

Thank You

Tom

Yeah that the bit im gonna have to work on... but now I know it seems a sensible figure and not a figure plucked out of the air then I will have to go about getting them.

Would you guys advise using a canvassing firm aswell as self promotion by leafleting and going back knocking to try and get a few on at once.

Either way, I am now going to do this.

Thank you for your reply

i would say an ideal client base would be around the 600 mark on a 4 week cycle at an average of £10.00 per house .

this in my eyes is where i want to get to so i can be turning over 6k every 4 weeks i know it will take a long time to do this but i'm determined

you just have to look at the bigger picture i reckon within 2 yrs i could get this easy as well as anyone else .

all we gotta do now is fit them in lol .

the down side to that amount with 2 of you doing it, after you take out the tax peterol and any other daliy costs, you might be on less than £100 a day,

Yes its achievable, but you can also come up with 300 customers averaging £24 – or 400 customers averaging £18 – or 500 customers averaging £14.40 – or 200 customers averaging £36 – or 50, 150, 250 or a 1000 customers etc

(Un)Like your customer base – the averaging price isnt set in stone and is a variable that often moves up and down; if you do decide to utalise it, then you wont need so many customers, even for two people.

Basically if you never take on a new customer below your current average price then your averging price will always go up and you will reach your finacial target that much sooner. Easier said than done, but there is a lot you can do each day, week and month to work your business, just collecting customers is too simple and something you might regret, (if the penny ever drops.) window cleaning is more than just increasing the customer count.

Put as much effort into increasing your average price as you would the number of customers you are aiming to get and you will be much better off with a higher profit margin, reduced cost and less hours worked. Don’t do this and what will you have?

I agree with Richard

Work out your average for each customer in your area and stick to it, don't ever go in low just to get the work, also have you calculated into your figures the weather, do you think you'll be working five days a week every week?

I did traditional for ten years and I think I was pretty quick could do four three bed detached houses in an hour at £5.00 a house my average price should have been double that amount and I won't make the same mistake, I think to begin from scratch two blokes 20 houses is defiantly a good target but remember after a couple of years you should be doing a lot more maybe 35 houses a day this will then compensate for bad weather.

I'm going to work my schedular for a three day week and allow two days for wet work, gutters etc.

Good luck afroboy

78k a year Gav, the tax man will love u!

Sounds good go for it mate, just start doing everything yourself.... as soon as you hit the 300 mark... it will be to much for u.. then u can either get someone with u .... or u can get another van on the road.

20 a day for a 2 man trad setup is easy, 5 days a week is near impossible tho due to the weather! i worked a round with another guy in upminster averaging 40 houses a day, mostly detatched 3/4 beds, but we probably averaged only 3 days a week

20 a day is a good goal, I do have a backpack and I only clean weekends and do about 15 -18 a day. but I have found I can do about 20 on the second day.
