Traditional Is Best

WCF

Help Support WCF:

think its the same for both really, so many people think both are easy, but it takes training, time and skill to master trad and wfp. more so wfp tho.
I get that from my friends a lot! Window cleaning is easy, it doesnt look hard they say. My reply is. Any muppet can put soap/water on a window, Its making a good job of it that you will find hard.

lol well it is easy, put a mix cd in the player and you have a set for about an hour or maybe 2! so just stand there and hold onto one earphone and move about a bit!!!! easy as that! lol
Don't get me started lol

Who rakes more money in? Those with wfp or traditional?

Hmmmm... wfp?

I use both trad and wfp but neither is better. Both are used for different types of job.

Silly thread to be honest.

To many factors to consider... Price of houses, expenses, etc etc lol

Yes.

I know wfp jobs that can pay £300+ in a matter of 3hours with 2 guys working.

Yet I can't use wfp inside buildings etc.

Therefore it's not worth saying which is best.

I do want a WFP system but I can only see my being quicker at commercial jobs or where I have a lot of work thats very, very compact.

actually you can use wfp inside! there is a system that you can buy that is for inside work! so you can be 100% wfp inside and out!!!

Masons I am sorry that you think it is a "Silly post".

I was just tryting to raise a topic to discuss!!!!!!!

Also why comment if you think that it is a "Silly post".

I think he's basically saying there's a place for both, and I agree.

Here's my opinion on the matter, overall I'm probably on average about a third quicker with wfp, but the relevant factor is quality. I think, roughly averaged out 50% of the time there's nothing to call, except perhaps, unless you specifically do them, you get more for your money wfp as you inevitably clean at least some of the frames, but sills, which I always do either way may usually be better trad, ESP upstairs. The other 50 % is probably an even split too, some windows, or probably more precisely, frames, can be a nightmare and give problems you don't get with a blade. On the other hand, some come up an absolute dream, completely perfect, so clean you think the dirt inside is your mistake, no marks from squeegee drags or scrim detailing, and no soap residue which definitely can make a difference, but not so much with stuff like ecover. My analysis is open to objection, as when trad I didn't scrutinise windows like I did and still sometimes do wfp, although that could go either way

imo, and it is just my opinion, trad is better. you cant get a better finish then trad, and although the wfp guys apparently 'rake it in' you also have much higher overheads and the only way that could be balanced out is by charging more, which i know most wfp outfits do. so as far as the customer is concerned trad is def the better option, better finish for less money.

obvs wfp has its advantages with regards to hard to reach windows and safety at height, and is probably better for the cleaner per house money-wise.

with me i charrge the same as trad, and sometimes my charges are less than trad, when i have quoted people in the past, some have said is that all???

it costs more to set up but that was my choice to do that so why should i charge more for it, thats the way i see it. now i have got the equipment there isnt much of an overhead for me, its only water, resin and 5 filters that i need to buy, for that i can make that in a day to cover all that for a year, (not the water)

if only all wfp cleaners were as concientious as yourself rc, iv spoken to customers that i charge £8 and been told the pole guy came along and quoted £27!!!!

stuff that, my lowest job is for £4 a month, and highest is £30 a month without the commercials or contract. i dont see the point of charging a lot more, its like a trad gguy really, if one choices to spend £100 on gear and the other £300 why charge more, its there choice on equipment, thats the way i see it. im there to do the same job as any other window cleaner.
