I wouldn't have any round here with your average prices mate lol sign of the post code variety though. I take pride up here that my prices are higher than everyone local to me ,come on the forum and get a reality check haha.
That said I have made a conscious effort to target bigger houses and new builds more now. Have no issue with this round developing as it is, and raising prices or exchanging cheap for better priced work as I move on however.

I remember you saying you basically spilt your city north,south,East,West.. Must be some area you cover @adama
Yes that's how I split it. Most work is within a 5 mile radius though. But depending in the day I might be driving 2-5 mins between jobs.

Same really with prices. I've just tried to be at the high end of the prices on my area. My lowest house price is £8 for terrace.

Yet in other areas of the country £12 would be rock bottom prices. Like you say you can only aim to be at the very high end of whats acceptable locally.

Well this was my thinking on bad weather, I've people I could call on with smaller rounds to help if need be for a worthwhile cut.. Just to keep my round up and running

Or due to running 20 a day over five days,I don't mind using weekend as catch up. Been working many Saturday and Sundays since started, doesn't bother me as long as get good sleep and a day off here and there
Yeh see weekends I cant really work.

I have my 3 kids over every Friday till Saturday tea time so that rules Saturday out.

And Sunday well I have a 3 month old and I like my hobby fishing and biking and feel I deserve 1 day off a week so decided I wouldn't work weekends. That said I'm working Sunday this week but once I no longer need to I won't.

Busy schedule ya have there when not working mate! right enough too, burnout is never far away and something I'm becoming careful about. Or needing to think about having time out here and there.

It depends. Some people really enjoy working at do long days and 6 or 7 days a week.

I've never really been of that mindset I like my free time and like to smash through work as quick as possible and get home.

But we all need break. It's hard to switch off for sure. I'm either cleaning windows or thinking about cleaning windows the brain doesn't get much rest lol. But it's not such a good thing it's easy to get stressed out and make yourself Ill if you don't keep it in check

Well this week I've probably picked up a few walk ups, which after getting the van signed I've noticed happens lots more

After finishing my own town in a long (8am to 6pm shifts) draining but overall shorter week I've worked hard to get more out of it for the next cycle.

Dropped like 700 plus fliers yesterday and chapped maybe a quarter of that area today, got two ten pound houses, two 8.50 ones and a 7 quid small flat.

Yesterday while dropping fliers I chanced it when speaking to people getting in/out cars on driveways etc and picked up two ten quid ones there and couple 8 quid ones I reckon.

Facebook got me a 15 quid house this week, two ten quid ones and a gutter job.

While still building week five on this round conny cleans, gutter jobs and facia scrubs are getting advertised hard online...I'd recommend anyone building up to use fb daily! Every night settings time aside to hit those buy and sell sites at 7pm etc.

So all in guys, reckon I'm knocking on the door of 3000 for the round I'd say..

Getting new fliers made up, well made them on my laptop pretty much (power point is good to use here) and gona get then done at 5,000 or 10,000 @adamangler where did you find cheapest again?

These ones will have on them the added notice of 'working in your area regularly' as often I've found enquiries come in from fliers and people say 'im not sure you'd come all the way out here for one house though '..so who's to know of the work I'm missing out on with that mentality! perhaps they think fliers are just sent out to the whole region and are not targeted, who knows!

Also will add on flier that I clean front and rear doors as standard, as cleaning window frames and sills is on the current fliers and that alone has got me some work.. May even put a few before and after pics of work on these fliers actually.

Link to fb business page was good on the current batch though,at least half of those who came through a flier made first contact via the fb link. Handy..

Monster work Chris. Exhausted just reading the effort in that.

Flyerzone for flyers. Just google it

Prices vary but 10k is about 60, 70 quid or so if you have a good search

Yes it's awkward to navigate but if you look hard enough you'll find some good prices. I think best I've had was 10k for 60 quid and 5k for about 40.

Av got my 10k from cheapest print mate, don't know why I actually ordered them as round is almost full I'd say. Well for me working alone anyway..

I'm gona add up where I am,and end my blog pretty much. As apart from more early morning commercial work, and unless I take on; I don't have much room to make it much bigger along. It's not massive income but is more than I earned in care (2k monthly with loads of overtime) and is something I enjoy doing so...:)

Right,so added up round total. 3250 odd is where it's at (2800 residential and rest is commercial) and I'm due a 60 quid contract coming into the round soon (posh flats stairway windows)

Plan is to get this 500 litre tank and go waterfed very soon (but still Trad a lot too I think), so expect lots of annoying questions about that too.

Think I'll pretty much end this thread on that note and would like to thank everyone for their input along the way... Still early days but you guys have been invaluable, thank you.

Brilliant thread from start to finished I added the doors cleaned as standard on my Facebook page a few days ago, gone down well your soon have a coupke of vans on the road Chris with employees good luck with the wfp, glad I did it from the start only do a couple of trad jobs.

ATB.

Nowt wrong with that Adam! I don't ever plan on stopping, my aim is to keep growing till I'm biggest in Leeds!

Fair play.

Thought about it a lot but i dont think it's for me building and building and going the employees route.

Seems like too much hassle managing employees and customers. I reckon there's gotta be more lucrative avenues to explore than cleaning windows.

Nope I plan on building a good round just how I want it but no more than 3-4 days a week then I'm going to have a think what to do next
