I did a women's house the other day and she asked me to do her daughters bungerlow and she said it won't be anymore than £10 I thought hold on who does the windows, what about first clean. Doesn't she realise I'm the one who does the work I mean you don't tell a mechanic how much to charge lol

People like her annoy me. I had one last week did first clean on a ladies house plus her small connie roof for £75 . Had a call later the afternoon saying you have just done my friends I haven't go a conservatory so will be much cheaper. I thought it's like that is it. Went along and she wanted full facia gutters etc and first window clean much bigger house than her friends. I quoted £120 and she acted like I was taking the p@ss couldn't work out how her friends was cheaper. I started to explain how you are paying for my time and it will take almost double her friends did then gave up not explaining myself to her.

Just say you go over and quote it and if she likes the Price Then you Can clean Them, Then she has an option and you Will show her you Are on top.

I had a bloke come out next door to a house I was cleaning today asking for a quote. I looked at the windows and noticed they looked clean. 'Do you have a window cleaner?' I asked. Yes but I'm not too happy with him he replied. 'Hmm, I thought, I wonder why.' I decided I would quote it at £20 every 6 weeks. TWENTY POUNDS!!! He gasped. 'Yeah, £20' I reply. How long have you been charging that much he asks. 'You want a quote and my quote is £20, I'm not desperate for work and any new work has to be at the rate I want, I don't want to be a busy fool.' Then he tells me the current cleaner charges £12 every 8 weeks. 'Best stick with him then.' I reply as I walk off. He still kept my card incase though

That is why i am fed up with windows

If i can do 1 or 2 jobs a day for more money then why should i **** about playing the game with window customers

Had enough of fighting to get paid for a 12 quid job when all the big jobs i do i state payment on completion and get paid before i leave when possible

Windowcleaning is simple, easy and a known income month after month and to be honest i have no Real trouble getting my Money.

I don't have trouble getting my money but i prefer £200+ for half a days work on 1 job rather than a whole day on the glass for not much more

Ofvourse Thats better but for it to be better you would constamtly have a flow of new customers to keep that income steady and i belive that is Harder in the long run Then chaising a few coins once in a while

I get what you mean but I have been a window cleaner too long and am now becoming an exterior cleaner including driveways..patios..fascias..roofs etc

So i will be offering many services and not just a window cleaner

It goes both ways, yes its nice to do a massive job instead of 10 houses sometimes but I definitely don't get enough 'other' jobs to cover my income from windows. I have a target hourly rate that I like to hit and that's achieved either way, and the windows are regular and reliable..

Still nice the other Saturday when I offered to paint a chaps fascias and sofits. Quoted £250 and was finished in 3 hours, plus he gave me a tenner tip. Give me that every day and I'll drop the window customers
