Got you,gav done mine and its bringing in local work well. Tonight a local Google web search got me a 25 quid regular clean and initial facia clean. He's put some of my before and after pics/link to fb business page on too now..all seems to help
How much you pay /paying for website Chris?

My pitch is usually "hi im mike, im working in the area on xxxxxxxxx and was wondering if you were looking for a window cleaner". If they ask for a quote i give it then say "so is that 4 or 8 weekly?" Gives them less chance to change there mind after giving price. They also know when im coming, as i never canvas more than a week before. Once they say yes i take details and as i leave ill add "see you on xxxxxxx around lunchtime". I usually can get 3-5 an hour, although i do stuggle some days to get out and knock

Best asking Gav,can't remember tbh. I'd say its where I get more add on work than actual window cleaning, but has more than paid for itself already a few times over with window cleaning work alone.

So just had two phone calls from the maybes agreeing to a £20 and a £15 every 8 weeks.

To sum up I've got myself £167 worth of work to do on Friday from 2 hours of canvassing, around 50 people spoken to. £40 of that is guaranteed monthly work so I'm happy. I had no work to do on Friday so was looking forward to my first day off in around 15 days but looks I'll be out grafting again!

Back out again after my last effort. Out from 5:45 til about 8:10. Got 4 jobs and a £80 one off for windows and white bits around the house. Give about 6 decent quotes as well. Thought I would get more though, some window cleaners are surely taking the ****. Window cleaning has surely got to be the only job that you can stay employed when your doing a **** poor job, nearly everyone said they were happy with there current window cleaner not because he does a good job but because hes been in the area for 17 years and hes part of the furniture. Thats not right surely. The windows were shocking

Tell us about it. Literally had people say "I know he does a bad job, but we've had him ages ".... I just walk away, can't do business with unreasonable people.

I got a couple of them but the ones that annoyed me were the ones that said they had a window cleaner, been here 17 years etc. I said oh does he do your frames as well ( while pointing ) "oh yeah he does the the whole lot". I was just laughing. And the ones that asked for a quote and then said leave it because they feel guilty about dropping them.

You'll find they get a poor service but they also don't want to pay for a quality service so they stick with what they have

You pay peanuts..you get monkeys

Went canvassing for an hour bank holiday monday, picked up 4 15 quid houses plus a 100 quid gutter clean and a conny roof. Whilst doing them today 2 walk ups and also a couple of referrals. Turn out last windy disappeared 4 months ago so getting all his old work, back out finishing canvassing the area tomorrow looks like my first 100% full week G-)

Nice one mate

I deliberately don't have any 100% full weeks so i can squeeze in softwash/gutter type jobs

Always manage to make more than a full week on the glass somehow

Im thinking of reshuffling my work a bit to make more room that week, ive got 1 1/2 days that i could move to a different week to make it more compact, im purposly leaving a week with a free day for all my fsg and conny roof jobs, or if i havent got any i can have a long weekend

My spiel is "hiya..do you need a window cleaner??"Blunt and to the point and i pretty much get a yes or no each time

Sometimes i say "I'm working round the corner so thought I'd knock a few doors" but pretty much just "do you need a window cleaner"
Who do you recommend when they say 'yes' they need a window cleaner?
