I would like to ask has anybody every been asked if they are qualfied in all my years of window cleaning i have never been asked . A friend of mine has got the somerset council contract and it is worth 10 of £1000`s never been asked .So i was just wondering is it worth the time of work

In nearly 30 years of being in the business i have never been asked but i think it is free and if it was down my way i think i would take a day off to see what it is all about . I can see what you are saying because i know blokes with big contracts and have never been asked

I think personally with the way health and safety is going it will be compulsory in the future for commercial window cleaners to be trained

ITs not really essential... but its good to have a certificate on board /emoticons/biggrin.png It can always come in handy /emoticons/tongue.png/emoticons/wink.png

Hi guys,

It's not a matter of the commercial company ASKING you for the certificate, it's about YOU being able to provide the proof of competency. That you have gone out your way to better yourself, and your business to make the best of your industry.

If you were a commercial company, with work out to tender, would you go for the company with the proof that they have made an effort with their training history, or someone who is running solely on "reputation".

We have heard about companies such as DTZ who would only sub work to window cleaners with the City & Guilds Certificate!

I never realised you had a a place in Newcastle, Its the closest one to me, about 3 / 3 and a half hours drive.

Will there be another training course there? Also how long do they last and this is 100% free right?

Hi MK,

I'm not 100% sure when the next Newcastle date will be!

It's a 3 day course, but it's spread over 3 months! So 1 day a month!

Cheers,

Tom
