Hi Guys

We have a cleaner employed and he doesn't seem to be getting through the work

almost all small 2/3 bed £10/12 houses and a few £7 front only terraced WFP and doing around 10/15 customers a day with 4 years experience

we need to be doing £300 a day to pay canvassing, van, wages etc

what are people cleaning per day in terms of houses/cash ?

Hi geniegroup

No doubt that's just not enough.

If he's slightly older I could imagine him being slower. Although we have 2 50+ year old guys working at the moment and they can still cut the mustard like the younger lads. I give my lads a worksheet close to your estimate.

Did some calculations and saw that your guy needs to be cleaning 3 houses an hour priced at a £12 average for 8 hours. Average of 25 houses a day. Which is nout really. That would equal £300 gross.

If he can't hit that target after 4 years window cleaning experience. He's not worth a dime.

He should be hitting at least 3 an hour minimum. Doing a quality job and making sure he's on track.

Sounds like he's slacking on your watch.

It May help if you pay him a percentage of the custys Price , rather than by the hour . ( if its what you do ) . That will punish him hard if He wont step up .

Are you expecting the guy to do £300 per day on his own?#

my prices are similar to yours, around £6-7 fr fronts £8 terraceds £10-£12 2-3 bed semis

I work at a good lick but cant do anywhere near 300 on my own at those prices, i tend to do about 12 a day as an average thats on 5-6 hour day, sometimes as little as 8 or as many as 16 depending on size or how compact so its usually £150 as a rough guide., I could push it £200 working till 4 o clock if i pushed myself but its a hard day and i wouldnt expect an employee to be able to do it with any consistency. 200 day is doable but it would need some better prices and more compact work for me to be consistent with it, 300 i cant ever see happening on my own to be honest.

Having said that my houses are not compact, most of mine are on seperate streets as a guess and hour od my day would probably be travelling/moving the van anything from 1 minute round the corner to 20mins down the road.

I think its how compact your round is. Like Adamangler no way could I do that as my round is all over the place at the mo and my min is £10

I'd say if he's making around the 200 mark as a one man team at those prices he's not slacking, under 125 would concern me. HOWEVER if he spend half his day travelling then that has to be taken into account

Realistic is 250 a day by time u take in to account that lunch break and. Bit of dosing about

If he is in a estate of houses with no travelling he do 300 at a push

If he is doin 1 here .. 2 there Etc. U need be realistic ...

Wat bout his can set up ? Do u have a mounted reel in van. Is the gates etc going be unlocked for him.

your asking far to much from him at 300 aday every day simple as that

I set my guys a monthly target which works out at 250 aday each , because some days they will do 400 aday and like one today hes only done 147 due to having a load of shite shop fronts to do

tomorrow hes in London working on some blocks of flats with the 80ft pole and will do 600 ish

the next day hes back on shop fronts and will do around 189 ish

if you put them on % they will rush round and miss windows and lose more then you pick up door knocking so let him carry on plodding around and find some more staff and let them plod on too

, this way your earning more keeping your custmors happy so there will be very little fall out its easier to keep them then knock at there door to get them is what I tell me lads

as he says, see how many you get through compared to him, change his round for 1 month so you can clean them.

He may talk to customers for tooooooo long, this takes your time up

All our work is pretty tight, at least 6/7 houses on one road, most new build, i did 15 first cleans in 4 hours £180 worth all cleaned well no complaints

3.5 houses an hour is a realistic target id say

3.5 an hour is 300 a day if non stop, you need to remember that he needs to have breaks. BY LAW you need to give him a minimum of 30 mins for every 4 hours worked, that does not include travelling time as he's still working. Even if he worked 7 hours flat out your looking at 275. I think you need to reassess your targets. First cleans are no good as an assessment of how much you can earn. I did 3 first cleans today worth £50 in an hour. Its highly unlikely I'll achieve that in an hour on maintenance cleans. If your that sire he's taking the **** then drive past him when he's working a few times and find out

Dont confuse what you can do as a one off going flat out with whats reasonable to expect day in day out.

Its easy to crazy for 4 hours to try to prove a point, ive destroyed myself before trying to see whats possible - but can you do it for 8 hours flat out 5 days a week at that rate? doubt it

let alone keeping hold of good staff , if you flog them to bits they wont help you out when asked , I have just took on a massive solar farm because I know my staff will pull out the stops to help me do it and not hinder the round work because they are willing to go that extra mile

Well, reading the amount some people can get through is mind bending. 4 hours 15 clean? Really thats 5 an hour? 12 mins per house? That is just madness. I couldnot get near that the way I clean, I like to do a good job and clean the doors and make sure no runs of dirt coming outfrom sills etc, that takes time just stopping that and cleanign it up. I watch other cleaners and often see them take 15 mins to 20 mins on one house and a good job done. I do two to three an hour and do not want to do more than that. One reason is burning out and second reason that of quality. With so many cleaners now I find it hard to get rows of houses so have travel time inbetween cleans. I manage 12-15 a day and £150-170 a day max, seesm **** comapared to on here but thats pushing it for me and thus getting new customers of the franschise ones where they rush and do **** cleans and get No complaints at all. The way I want to run my business.

@Clisty1989 legal time so you need to give breaks is if on a 6 hour shift ..20 mins... then if doing a 10 hour shift 2 x 20 min breaks.,..

law

but really if he is dong a full day he shud get a half hour break and a few breathers here an there
