Hi,

I have regular work with a property management company. I have been asked to quote a job, a bit bigger than most blocks I clean for them. There will be 3 bids as usual, so just wanted an idea of the industry standard.

My question is when doing such a large job, do you quote the normal £3 per metre or more/less for gutters. We will be using a cherry picker for most of the gutter work. Some access is difficult and we haven'e able to fully assess the state of the gutters, some areas could be full while others could be clear and need very little work.

Also would you do the average £1 per window on such a large job? 90% will be done WFP, but some areas will require trad due to access.

Just want a feel of what the industry standard is on large commercial jobs such as these.

I have an idea of what I would charge to cover staff, equipment etc. but just wanted another point of view.

Cheers

I don't do hardly any gutters but in regards to window cleaning £1 a window is not a good method to use when pricing commercial.

In all honesty there is no right or wrong method you could be up against a company willing to do the job for peanuts just to keep staff busy..

I price every job individually but look at various factors like height,frequency,access/obstructions and how long I estimate it will take.

I'd work it out how long will it take x30 x staff + extra expenses so 8 hrs with 4 staff would be would be 8 x30 x 4 = 960 + expenses

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. With the other commercial jobs I do counting windows generally gives me an idea of time then I can work a rate out. I don't necessarily charge the £1 per window, It's more of a guide.

I price high, always will, if someone else wants to do it for peanuts they can. I'm not going to, too much work available to work for cheap.

That's an interesting way to look at it, strangely enough it works out very closely to what I had in mind. Cheers
