Hi guys.

So finally outgrown gardiners back pack. Its been solid and reliable for 6 months but cannot cope keep topping up or lifting sack truck out the van 30 times a day.

So need to go full van mount now. Question is whats needed.

Ive got a tank in the van 350lt and buy my pure.

So what will i need to connect a full plug and play system?

Any help really appreciated guys thanks alot.

You need to provide a little more info.

What is your tap water tds?

Have you got place to store water or do you want everything on board? (Plug and play?)

What happens if you run short of water during the day? A van mount will use more water than a backpack, but hopefully you will be able to clean quicker (faster rinse) and do more work a day.

@spruce i buy water from constant watet services (courtney) ,no need for tds readings etc

Just want plug and play i have

Tank

Reel

Im guessing i need

Pump

Controller

Battery.

No idea how to wire or connect it all together. Will battery remain charged at all times?

Cheers dude

You will need to charge your battery if you don't charge of main battery look up split charge relay.

I know Courtney he can help set it up for you if you ask him,But he is expensive.

Buy a leisure battery(caravan)

I charge mine every 2 weeks...n use a shurflo pump n digital controller....most outlets sell this as a pack so u just need to wire battery..connect hose feed and outlet n go

What do you mean expensive? Pure or his time fitting?

His time for fitting is exspensive. But to be honest he generally is the most exspensive for most materials and parts but he does know his stuff.

Oh right i see. Im based london anyway is he not somewhere else?

Just wondering how i link up battery etc so i dont need to take it out to charge it.

Also getting to know all about tge control puropse etc does it control flow? Pump power etc i have no idea.

Do you come up from London to fill up with water at the unit in Stevenage?thats quite a way if you do.

In reference to your battery if you don't want to take it in to charge it you need a split charge relay.

The controller turns the pump on and controls the flow up and down it will also tell you battery current.

To be honest I'm not the best for d.i.y install info I had mine fitted out by a company.

Spruce is your man as well as a couple of others on here they will point you in the right direction.

Shurflo pump, controller, strainer kit and back plate

Leisure battery. Preferably 110 amp although 85 amp will get you by.

Halfords or local caravan outlet. Actioning any warranty claims from web suppliers will be difficult so I would recommend buying locally.

I would go with 110 amp as you could well use the extra capacity fitted into a battery box

Unfortunately leisure batteries like to be kept as near to fully charged as possible for longevity. If you do minimal mileage then you will need to find some way of supplementary charging your leisure battery. Our minimal mileage isn't enough to keep our 110 amp battery fully charged.

If your van is prior to 2015 then an ordinary split charge relay should work fine. (see note regarding smart charging alternators.)

Simplysplitcharge are great guys to deal with. Measure the length of positive cable you need from your van's battery to the leisure battery and ask them to quote accordingly. An intelligent relay is easy to fit. It comes with fitting instructions for dummies so anyone can do it.

If your van is the latest generation with regenerative charging then you need to read up the info that Grippatank have on their site.

Then its just a matter of wiring the controller to the leisure battery, connecting a hose to the pump from the tank and another length to the hose reel. If you want to lock the van up and have to hose reel outside, then this hose needs to be feed through the floor and to a van port under the rear bumper.

He has a unit in london also

How many normal houses would a Gardiner backpack clean before you have to top up?
Most backpacks your looking at 1-3 maintenance cleans of a 3 bed semi depending on how much glass there is. I easily get through a whole backpack on a 1st clean though

How much water would you use on an average day? Do you just bring some jerry cans?
