i have had better results using this flyer over knocking. when you knock you put people on the spot and they cant think. its like a gun man aiming a gun at their head and they panic most the time. with these you give them time to think if they really need it doing. you are not forcing them to place it in the window the next day. so far im liking this way of gaining work. my facebook page has been getting active recently too from just posting it in for sale groups with FROM £10 month.

Knocking is gold. If I had time I'd do it all day

Soon il do it all day

I thought it was against the law to knock on doors and ask for work, I see the signs in some areas no cold calling
As far as i know by searching the net is those no cold calling area signs are unenforceable as their is no actual law saying you can't do it

This is from the house of commons website and it actually says it is not illegal

3.2 How do ‘No Cold Calling Zones’ work?

A zone is designated via the installation of signs at the entrance and exit

to the zone and residents are supplied with educational advice,

information and door stickers. Residents are also given telephone

numbers to ring if they are concerned about anyone knocking on doors

in the neighbourhood. Trading Standards Officers and/or the Police will

usually respond to the call and, where appropriate, can demand to see

identification.

In order to inform legitimate callers, letters are usually sent to interested

parties such as utility companies explaining the scheme. For legitimate callers, the scheme simply reinforces good practice and those who

correctly follow the National Cold Calling Protocol will not be prevented

from doing their work. The key principles of the protocol are that

organisations that make personal calls on people at their homes are

required to:

• make pre-arranged appointments where possible

• provide identity cards and offer the opportunity for the

householder to check their identity

• explain the purpose of the visit

• be willing to call back at a later date and time if the householder

so requests

Guidelines on setting up a No Cold Calling Zone have been published by

the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) and can be downloaded from the

TSI website. 7 Various local authorities also provide information on

setting up zones on their websites.

In terms of getting started, the support of partner organisations is

essential to the scheme’s success although the inclusion of particular

agencies may vary from area to area. Trading Standards will always

need to be involved, as they will take lead actions in its implementation.

Other agencies to consider are the police, local councils and

Neighbourhood Watch etc.

of course it cant be illegal or RSPCA, DOGS TRUST and CANCER RESEARCH wouldn't be banging our doors at 8pm on a week night trying to extract money from us lol.

i just find knocking boring, with the YES leaflets its exciting like a kid on xmas morning. walking or driving round that corner looking for a YES in the window. i remember my first yes and i remember when i knocked her door. she was like a kid in a sweet shop asking all sorts of questions bout my WFP setup and the water i used. she wanted some water for her iron lol
