Hi would a karcher K7 be good enough for most domestic pressure washing jobs say once a week say, looking to spend approx £400-£500 max at the moment ( if people have better alterntives).

thanks everyone.

Dan

Hi @greenhorn84

I am waiting till I have enough PW jobs coming in before I buy a machine.

For now I rent one when needed. Cost for a petrol PW 15 lpm at 3bar in £45 for the day or £65 for the week up here.

Benefit of a rental is if it goes wrong they swap it out.

I always keep a mind of the smaller jobs I see need doing so when I get a good job come in I take the machine for a week and see how many of the smaller jobs I can add on.

Will buy one before summer from Rutland pumps.

Just one that willdo the job.

As i am only doing typical residentia work I don't need the 21 lpm some seem to think you 'must' have.

Company I use use is called Frank Key but call around your local ones as some only do electric models.

hi, I have a k7. Great machine. I bought the flat surface cleaner to go with it, rubbish!! However, when the K7 is used with the dirt blaster nozzle, its great with medium sized drives.

If I'm doing a big drive though, I would take out my petrol machine or else id be there all day

Well said. Seen loads of post on here claiming a 21L machine is 'needed' for big drives.

I do some massive drives and i have a 15L Briggs and sratton machine with gearbox. And its a beast of a machine that's handled any drive in good time without issue

used industrial ones (not mine) and a crappy karcher think it was a compact (a water pistol has more grunt to it)

so thought best to check with you guys.

It would only be domestic use and small commercial (have quite a few doctors and dentists as customer from building work i do) .

as we're on subject of driveway cleans and you guys seem to do a lot.. it's bit something I do, but I have a massive oil stain on my drive, well ground in...any tips on what to remove it with..drive way is concrete with rows of bricks in places..bought a few degreasers of e bay in past but all rubbish...have a karcher k4, would that be powerful enough with what ever you can recommend, or would I have to hire a washer in like ones you talking about...thanks in advance guys...

hi steve garwood just looked up the karcher k7 compact pressure washer is that the one you have...homebase currently doing it for £260 is it good..again is this powerful enough to clean oil as well....what do you do for water connect to customers tap or from your tank in van somehow...do you use customers electric...??

The best advice I can give is do what I did, call up and talk to Ben at Rutland pumps. Let him know what you want to do and he will put you right. Super informative chap.

Oil is a bugger to get off as it soaks into the blocks

get a mapgas blowtorch

Get a cloth and dab on some petrol..use mapgas (burns hotter than butane) blowtorch to burn the stain out of the block
