I'm in the process of buying everything I need to produce my own water. I need to buy a submersible pump so I can transfer water from an IBC to the tank in my van. I know precisely zero about submersible pumps. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly received.

it works with no problems at all, the only problem i have is the pipe is like having a fight with a shark lol, and the pump will not stand up in the tank, apart from that its good for the price,

I don't rate this hose at all now from screwfix!
Reinforced Suction / Delivery Hose Green 10m x 1¼

Pin ***** holes everywhere. It's fine if you dont drag it, but its hatd not too!

Yes we use this pump and its bigger brother!

Titan TTB582PMP 400W Automatic Dirty Water Pump 240V

Keep the receipt then tend to die around the 18 month mark due to bearing failure /emoticons/wink.png
I picked up that pump and hose yesterday. I'll make sure I keep the receipt and don't drag the hose

Cheers. I was looking at that one. Any issue with it? And does it perform well?
Hi mate I have to transfer water from my house to my van but the distance is around 20meters I have a sub pump from screwfix but it take forever to fill 600 litres through a hose pipe. Is there a better pump as I don't want to use a lay flat hose. It fills so fast with a lay flat but the pipe just leaks when I have to put it away as the floor rips small holes thanks John

I have a similar situation to you, Johnwindow1987. Roughly a 20 m drag from the back yard through the house and then a pavement to cross to the van parked by the side of the road. Rather than risk people going **** over on a garden hose I decided to go the hard core route and lug 25 l barrels.

Since I haven't started my business properly yet it remains to be seen how long before I'm fed up with that approach. I envy those of you who have your own driveway.

Vwc I feel the same about a drive. I had the 25ltr containers soon gave it up. Iron giant thankyou is it east to store the pipe. What pump do u use ? Thanks

I use a Sip Sub Pump toolstation.com/shop/p12256 , The hose is easily stored I wedged mine down the side of my tank in the garden shed I use 30 metres of hose in total so I use the hose joiner they sell and just taped each join with electrical insulating tape as well and I use two 25L containers for extra water capacity .

I only have a 400L tank and it takes about 5 minutes I am always jobbing on so never check exactly how long it takes basically the bigger the transfer hose the faster the filling so just go for the largest diametre hose .

Think I'll go for the next size up and hope it works as it's really driving me mad with a hose it takes 2 hours just to fill it. But my old lay flat takes 5 10 mins but it has pin holes everywhere cheers
